I'm using a 350qx stock everything except running adapters,6545 props and 280mm racing frame. The motors don't have enough rpm to fly this quad like it should. Can I throw a 2200kv and still be ok with stock esc?any other help please pass it my way.

I believe the stock 350qx motors are 1100kv

Going to a 2200kv motor seems like a rather big jump.

a "typical" upgrade kit for the 350qx using motors in the 1200kv range:

2200 will be too much for the esc but I think that will give the quad I want. The motors that I just looked at are 11-13 continuous amps. Like to stay with the same esc but don't know if the board could handle the esc. 1200kv would help a little

I would be hesitant pulling more that 10a on the stock esc.

Do you present motors get hot? Any possibility of being over propped?

A better quality motor might make enough of a difference.

Is the total weight more than stock?

Don't think the motors are hot. Factory props are 8045(I think) but dropped it down to 6545. So lost 2" on props

ok, it doesn't sound like you are over propped.

Some of the upgrade motor sets come with props specifically matched to the motors.

Also, have to watch flight time if you get too far away from stock specs.

I don't think the stock 350qx motors really anything special, so one of the upgrade kits just might give you what you need.
