My quote was such below.
Our space is not infinite.
And substantiated belowhttp://www.redorbit.com/news/space/...ter-all-021913/
Is The Universe Infinite? Not Likely, Say Physicists
Scientists at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) told reporters the universe may not be infinite after all.Reality is
Whether the Universe is finite or infinite is an important question, and either outcome is mindblenderingly fun. So far, astronomers have no idea what the answer is, but they're working towards it and maybe someday they'll be able to tell us.
And my context was that space and time was created with the big bang.
Our universe is finite, but space is infinite as is time.
As for physicists consensus, numbers don't mean damn thing, they cant all be Einstein.
Mathematicians can bark at the moon all night about true mathematical infinite not being possible but the fact is that anything that so so voluminous as to be of an unassailable order of magnitude, for all intents and purposes it is infinite to humans.
So if all space (not our Universe) is so expansive that in the entire existence of humanity we would never be able to find the edge of it before our planet turns into a ball of fire, then space is infinite.
And the time it would take for such a vast size to come into existence would also be for the same purposes, infinite.
If in all the existence of humanity you can never prove that space is not infinite by finding the edge of it or observing some proof in experiment before the end of humanity, then it is infinite for humans and we can treat it as infinite.
Other so called paradoxes offered are inordinately complex which would be fine is there was not a far simpler explanation.
Its idiocy to be cherry picking paradoxes as they do.
Clinging to the idea that all this was created and time began with one big bang that began with nothing in nowhere space is like Cat in the Hat theory.
And when arguing religion and philosophy Cat in the Hat theory is no better then arguing creation by a deity.
Its not a wonder you have not convinced believers in God to adopt Cat in the Hat instead.
And those that continue to resist not just infinite time and space theory also tend to resist the existence of infinite random.
They insist that all have provable limits which is almost a religious belief.
Its as if people who believed in finite space that God created, all found science, but still have the same old logic used when they believed God created it all.
Insisting one big bang created all finite space and time at one time from nothing, you may as well add to it that God did that too.
Do that and you end up not actually arguing opposition to God at all.
So you better come up with something a whole lot better then that if you have any intention of arguing the existence of God because finite space theory is not arguing opposition at all.
Fact is you cant argue the existence of God at all and to do so is just pointless.
But you can argue a simple explanation for the creation of our small known universe by simply accepting space and time is infinite.
And if it is then the existence of our universe does not become a matter of chance or luck using Cat in the Hat logic, it becomes almost inventible that a Universe like ours would eventually be created if it was one of innumerate universes created over infinite time.
Being that space over infinite time has evolved like everything else we know of evolves.
Seeded by infinitely random permutations in infinite space over infinite time one of the innumerate universes has evolved into the Universe we know and live in.
This provides a plain straight forward explanation for not just the existence of us and our known Universe but also explains evolution of everything in space including all species of our planet.
All so easily explained, but some are just not having simple explanations preferring to engage in cherry piking paradoxes, the the infinite hotel room paradox goofs are just annoying fools.
Just wasting time and unnecessarily convoluting issues to justify their pay check.
Infinite time and space is a plausible explanation for the existence of our Universe that does not provide for a theory that it was all created by one big bang or God and that is the only argument that provides any reasoning, the rest and that which you use still allows for the existence of God.
And it also explains evolution and why it is not intelligent design where your finite space and time theory does not explain it.
Your failure to provide a theory that would demonstrate any alternative to God creating it all is not a valid point to argue the existence of God in any convincing way.
But even then it's pointless to argue the existence of God to begin with.
Argue the means by which our universe was created by all means but forget about arguing the existence of God.
Its a fool errand.
What it comes down to is not whether God exists, that is just a position the neo atheist uses to berate the religious followers like some high priest of an inquisition.
Its is a matter of deciding if you will or will not follow religion and why.
I have faith and belief in other peoples belief in God.
I believe that they believe in God.
I have a plain reason why I do not follow religions and do not have to bother with arguing if God exists or not just to assume a false sense of superiority over people who do believe in God like neo-atheist bullies do.
I don't have to bully or offend religious people to maintain my position.
If you do to maintain yours then I suggest you review that position because there is a meanness about it and no purpose served by doing it.
It's not like you are converting any of them off religion doing it anyway.
They wont wake up tomorrow and say to themselves, yeah outhouse was right so I don't believe in God anymore.
And if it serves no use then its just done to be nasty.
