Got my VControl today. Got the battery all charge and downloaded some of the apps.

The manual doesn't look too bad, but I've downloaded a lot of good videos to watch tonight to fill in the cracks

First thing I have to figure out is how to set the clock for the right time.

So far I'm impressed with the radio. It has a nice feel to it and the screen is nice and readable.

I may firm up the stick tension when I have it apart putting in the second battery.

Enjoy. It's a little bit of "forget everything you think you know about a transmitter" and a little bit of "hey, this is just like the vbar software"

I got mine in January. There was some frustration. By June it was like an old pair of boots. I really like it.

Oh, and the clock syncs with your computer's time when you plug it in.

if it ain't broke, break it.

Cuda,

Yes, I saw in the Vbar Control manager that it was updating the clock, but it was still about 4 hours ahead.

Did some digging and found I needed to delete the "command" file in the sys folder of the radio.

Still didn't work.

On the Vstabi site in one of the videos it shows how to reboot the radio by holding the elevator stick in the lower right corner while turning on the radio. This does a file integrity check and re-loads the command file.

Now the time is showing correct.

I've been watching the videos, and it looks like the setup is even quicker than using the old software. Almost TOO easy?

A new way of looking at programming indeed!

The clock sometimes takes a couple of sync's to reset. Usually it will do it each time it does the file integrity check, but occasionally I've had to disconnect and reconnect (closing the program seems to help) to get the clock to update. This all seemed to improve as new firmware versions came out, to the point where it just works. I started with a first-batch VControl and have been with it (same radio) to now. Very cool to watch how responsive they've been with adding features and addressing issues.
