I had a tree take out my 600 line Sony. So, I hooked up the video feed from my Run-cam two to my FPV transmitter. Wow what a clean display and no latency. With the V2 software I have a full screen on my Fat shark googles. Setting the power saver to "off" lets it work in standby if I don't want any video recorded.

I have never tried that.

Would you mind getting the DVR footage from the goggles?
I would like to compare it to a HS1177.

Thanks!

I'm sorry I meant goggles...

I just wonder if you can see a difference when transmitting on a higher resolution, does it actually come through better and if so how much better?

The picture quality on the goggles is an order of magnitude better and the light handling is superb, no black lines from the sun just a bright area and everything else is still visible. If I use the internal battery, the the picture is very very good If I use power from the Quad battery there is just a bit of grain running through it.(I think that is being caused by the un-shielded video wire running near the processor on the Naze-32.

I sees in the "dark"

I use the Runcam 2 as both my FPV camera and my recording camera and I have been very happy with it. Today, I got a late start and the sun went down while I was flying and I didn't notice it until I landed. I then flew for an additional hour after sunset and the video display was just like daytime and still in full color.....amazing.

Still 4:3 fpv output to goggles. Pretty good for a cmos camera but not nearly as good as a hs1177 ccd fpv camera imho.

Cheers,

One thing worth mentioning is that the RF shielding over the board (where the battery sits) will come loose when running without the battery. I have had it happen on all three that I have. Just remove it before you use it without the battery (it snaps right off), I see no difference in the video quality/noise.
