Looks Good....
I am just wondering how old that video is!!! I haven't seen an Astro Charger in years... I used them when I was first getting into this "voodo" electric stuff!!
Last Sat, I charged 4 x 6s 10,000 packs in 43 minutes from storage at 40 amps!!
The Diamond head is pretty "old school" too.. take your time and look around... I know there are better out there.. not sure you can get parts any longer too...
I will keep my eyes open for you too...

Leisure Tech in BC has those heads in stock and parts for them. They are dependable, if not a bit dated, and do serve most applications very well. I have two five blade heads (one may be sold in the future) and one three blade head on my Heli-Baby. These heads just work and need very little maintenance, like lubing once a year on the thrust bearings. For the really fussy, I would go to sk-rotorkopf and have a look at their products. I have one five blade head that has crashed, seriously, three times and it is still straight as an arrow. I hope to bring it to Panama City and get a few flights in on it while I am in the process of building the model. Nothing but first rate machining and materials. Take care.

When Heli World was selling off all the scale stuff, I bought my fuse for my "C" model and a 4 blade head. The box arrived a few days later. After I opened it, I liked it so much that I bought another fuse, Another 4 blade head for parts, and a 5 blade head. I have got to think that I will never find a deal like that again. I need to find a good "button" for the top. Right now I am using a stock one from Align.

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

Wow, it has been a long time since I worked on this. I took it off the shelf the other night and played a little "heli chess", giving it the stare down to figure where I left off and what to do next.
I talked with Bert Kammerer at the Orlando Heli Blowout and was able to order a matched and balanced 5 blade set of Switch Blade 603's. They should be here in early Feb.
So back to the cockpit build. I need to finish the seatback assy. to make it somewhat look like something.

Make some templates. I prefer to use file folder although I have seen some use cereal or cat litter boxes

I came up with this. I think that after some paint and material it will look alright.

Time to make the other side.

Thanks Emile. I’m looking ahead to installing the windows but am not a fan of the brown tint. I was looking at the ones from RC Aerodyne and they appear to be clear. Although this is a Funkey fuse, I wonder if they will fit.

Hey Barry, thanks. I finally got the urge to build again. I think the Jayhawk rebuild burned me out for a while. That was a pretty intense few of months putting Humpty Dumpty back together again lol.
Emile, I won’t be happy unless I try so I will order the clear glass and give it a go.

I think it will work fine, seems the aerodyne and funkey fuses came from the same if not similar molds with the exception the aerodyne fuses has the doors that open.

Well, I got the clear glass. It is not a direct fit but, after a little finessing it is going to work. It could also be this canopy as it was out shape from the beginning. I have a few more things to do before I bond it in place but, it is going to look good.
Edit: I also got my main blades from BK designs, 5 matched and balanced from the factory spot on!
