Stan, there is much wrong with this article. It is advertising a Little bird but, the features show an E model. It states 2 blade tail and shows a 4 blade. It states 280mm tail dia. and 45mm tail blades. I would think that the blades are a little short, after all my 4 blade head 600 runs 110mm tail blades.

So this is what I would question. What model is it, D or E.
What is the story with the tail, 2 or 4 blade, and dia. and blade length.

Those are some good looking helis but, I would love to have an 800 size D model with 5 blade head and 4 blade tail in primer color to paint myself. For the time being, this build is going to last a while.

Stan, Ill see you and the Tree Cobra in Panama City.

Ron

I didn't crash. I just ran out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas all at the same time!

Which one do you prefer? I have always been a fan of the C model but, you cant go wrong with a D model as well.

New Model

I really didn't look at it that closely...would have to contact RCA for the proper answers!!! I just happened to see it listed..
I am all about the E model... but I like the civilian schemes best., ( mostly so I can see them!!!)
See you in PC Ron

Thanks guys. I have been working on the cockpit lately.
I have the seat base and back wall/seat backs done.
The instrument panel was just going to be a printed panel glued on for the "look".

Then I couldn't leave it alone, I had to illuminate them. So, I got out the pin vice and file and came up with this.

Cut out a clear .015 panel and glued on the front, then glued the printed panel on that. Made up an LED light set with 4 clear lights.

I think it looks pretty good for a rookie.

Maybe a coat of flat clear.

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

Thanks Barry. You know, a 3D printer would have came in handy for this job. A nice bezel plate would look good but, this will do.

Trying to make it look not so amateurish with some screws and knobs.

Added some switches also.

Looking good Ron. I finally pulled the trigger and bought a 600 size align to build a tow defender. Hope you don't mind copying your idea of building.

I have a diamond 5 blade head. Looking for a 4 blade tail.
The 600 pro frame fits fairly easy. On my "C" model, I opted for a custom made longer boom and torque tube anticipating using longer tail blades so there would not be a main blade strike. Good thing that I did, it uses 110mm tails. I have built this one the same way.

A little more on the cockpit with the carpet down.
