Here's my new Blade 180CFX and the free case I received from Horizon Hobbies with my order. I'm looking forward to giving this little baby a try. The case is a nice touch especially since it was free (a listed $49.99 value).

I ordered 3 Glacier batteries from Buddy RC and a set of rails from Helidirect. I think I'll get some flying done on the stock head and blade holders and then upgrade if needed. I had all the upgrades from Microheli on my mCP X BL and they helped a lot with control and precision.

Not to go off-topic NQNA, but do you like the 180 better than the Mcpx BL? I just got back into the hobby after 3 years out and trying to play catch-up.

Doug, the 180 is a step up from the Nano, but if you want something to shake off the cobwebs and yet be aerobatically capable, check out the Blade 230 S. It is available both as a RTF or BNF. I've flown a number of them and they are nice little helis.

I have yet to fly the 180 but I did like the Mcp until I had a lot of problems with the board frying... I just gave up on it. The 180 has a Spektrum AS3X board so I hope its better. The shaft tail drive should be a great improvement!

Thanks for the input Fella's, appreciate it. Blade or formally E-Flight also known as Horizon Hobbies has come out with several heli's in the past couple of years, hard to know what to expect when your not reading the forums and getting real feedback from the Peoples.
The shaft tail drive should be a great improvement!
I 've had torque tubes in the past and are very precise until you hit tall grass or crash, not saying they are are Bad just a little less forgiving in my experience.
Did Not mean to hyjack your topic NQNA, sorry. Got a couple of Mcpx BL's coming from an RR member--we'll see how it goes.

I've bought a few items to upgrade my 180 CFX. I still have not been able to get my first flight in but will try this week. These upgrades are from the suggestions on the other CFX post but I will fly it without them first. I plan to try the slipper tail drive mod and have bought a few extra driveshafts to modify.

I hear ya man, I got 3 mcpx bl's for the price of one and now I'm down to 1 working control board---it's a shame cause I like flying it but I'm on the fence now.

Here's my machine at the field today. I will put the Microheli metal stuff on this weekend but it flys very well in stock condition. I've flown it with the Rail Blades and now these orange Microheli blades, both are better in mho than the stock bullet blades.

I have a bit of tail wag with this heli. Anyone have an idea on how to help this problem? Is it a gain issue?

Slow wag or a fast wag?

Slow wag tends to be an "I" gain issue (too high).
This gain can be adjusted through the setup menus of the fbl.

Fast wag means your tail gain is too high.
Tail gain is adjusted through the tx gyro menu or gear channel.

Here is a few pics of my updated 180. I think it looks pretty cool! The Zeal Carbon Fiber Energy 155mm main blades really look nice.
