Announcement received from Cajun Aircraft:

NEW Whiplash-G II Gasser

Just announced! The new Whiplash Gasser will be available soon, last word was October. Pricing has not been set. The full link is in the store at http://www.cajunaircraft.com

Here is the list of updates:

The one way bearing is positioned at the main shaft.
The front tail transmission is a crown gear combined with a bevel gear.
The main gear is a helical one, 117:17 or 117:16 teeth, alternatively the old 124:18 teeth straight gears can be used.
The tail gears are the new CNC machined POM and aluminum gears.
The tail slider / tail pitch yoke is based on a 8mm threaded brass sleeve
The torque tube is now a lightweight stainless steel tube with new bearing cups, bearings, bushings, and tube ends for high concentricity and low vibrations.
The ZG G320RC can be mounted.
Landing gear is based on narrow tuff struts.
New canopy and tail fin design for better visibility.

Regarding the landing gear, it appears the designer got the "Align"-ment wrong.

the original crown gears were a problem until they added a front support for the gear shaft. After that they only broke if the dumped the tail pretty hard otherwise they were reliable.

If you're not flying a gasoline helicopter
You're paying 10 times too much for fuel!!

If you adjust for inflation, this heli is a fraction of it's cost 25 years ago. As the hobby shrinks, the prices will go up.

I agree, but I guess you could say it's a German made American Heli, like a Mexiacan made American car

Miniature Aircraft Whiplash-G II Gasser - announced

I would rather have parts made in Germany, than in Asia anyday. As long as it is made in Germany by Germans, it should be topshelf. All most as good as "Made in U.S.A." The really big deal,is that we can get new parts for our MA helicopters. Now if we could only get the masses to buy MA that would be great.
