So V1 comes out, then a V2 or pro version and then none of the parts fit cause they made changes along the way.

I wonder if the landing skids will fit my 450l. It would be nice to get my tail off the ground a little bit more.

They are just keeping up with SAB and their 380. It'll be just like Aligns other offerings, 1 million rpm, 3 minute flight times.

Yes it will use 380 mm blades
Does anyone know how Align names its helis. Everyone else's names correspond to the blade size except Align. I know the Align larger machines conform to that concept, but why name a heli Dominator 470 and run 380mm blades on it, or Dominator 500 and run 425mm blades?

Just seems odd to me.

Not sure about the history. Blade took the "name hit " when they brought out the 360 CFX, although they still sell the 450 (325mm).

They started there own categories long time ago, for the most part I would say they crated markets most electric sizes. The bigger helis follow the Nitro standards with blades sizes and are named for the approxed blade size.

30 size (500mm blades) = Align 550E
50 size (600mm blades) = Align 600E
90 size (700mm blades) = Align 700E

I was just curious, not meaning to hijack this thread about the heli.

Trex's are kind of named by motor size. Or they used to be. However with the 550 coming with a 700 size motor and the 700 coming with an 800 size motor that doesn't match anymore.

Looks like they are going to have a plastic version of it now too. I just saw it on Facebook called the 470LP.

I was thinking 470LM for metal and 470LP for plastic. I never really had an issue with plastic but the metal does look better. I guess it will depend on how much less the plastic version is. I bet it will fly just as good maybe even be lighter.

Thunder Tiger, Hirobo, Mikado, MSH Heli and Gaui have shown how good plastic parts can be.

It should be within Align's grasp to make good plastic parts also.

There is $132 difference between the super combo kits. $18 difference on the cyclic servos alone, $54 for the set.

Its kind of funny that now they have gone back to a non dfc and belts. I guess they ran out of new ideas for a new model and just went full circle back to the old, non dfc, design. They had several reasons why DFC was better but now they take it out so I guess even they don't think it improved things that much.
