spaceman has a point and yes that was kinda weird to see someone flying around a place like that, but the funny part was the skin head cop walking away with "tail between legs... however the Srgt was smart enuff to keep things kool, now that's to be RESPECTED! as opposed to some punk cop thinking he knows the laws but dening
the amendment rights

The police force always has to be reminded that they are not the law. They are there to enforce the law. Not make up laws. Seems the captian needs to educate his officers.....gestapo tactics wont be tolerated . Police forces employ too many ex miliarty that think their still in Baggdad kicking in doors.....Thankfully out local police forces are recognizing the need to desclate from a mitilatrized police force..... because we demand it!

Whether or not what happened in the video was against the law, it still hurts our hobby.

Flying a machine either in close proximity to a military facility or over it may or may not be against current laws, but doing it to bait the security/police force is always a dangerous thing. I know it can be done, as we used to fly our models on base when I was stationed at the old Blythiville AFB.

First, the event "could" have escalated to a point where a mistake was made, and the guy got hurt or killed. He may have been right, but he could have ended up "dead right"

Secondly, if it keeps happening, the installations can get laws made that prohibit the activity. Now the police come gunning for bear because of what happened earlier.

I can't see anything but this stuff being a lose-lose situation for our hobby.

Who cares about the hobby! This jackass is filming a police complex, and the officers can't question him? How about when next week that complex gets shot up, or bombed? Will we be questioning our laws then? You young bucks, which is most who will agree with the asshat here, need to realize your protection doesn't come without a little pain!

Just another J.O. Thumbing his nose at the law. Just an idiot wasting the law mans time when a simple answer or explanation would have done the trick........

I agree if he would've just answered the questions it would all been over but then again he didn't have the right to ask as he was doing nothing wrong no criminal activity not being suspicious just standing on the side of the road minding his own business

Most cops not all have way too big a head on their shoulders and most have a big chip to go along with it I wish it was different XGM/VGM

Interesting, I'm on the fence, the cop should have known the law, I suppose but the "citizen" has every right to ask questions. That Drone could have crashed and taken someones eye out. Seems like another case of the Laws not keeping up with technology, imagine if the guys drone videotaped his ass gettin beat and then landed safely in his trunk using GPS That Drone would probably "Magically dissapear"

that was awful, the young cop trying to get id when suspicion of crime could have been based on gathering information to supply terrorists with surveillance. Obstruction of justice in preventing an officer from performing their duties without hindrance, but there's no law against being an asshole uncooperative citizen.

Those droney idiots seem to get a thrill out of pushing the limits by poking the bear, but some people in positions of authority are as bad, clearly the vid was the meeting of the two types.

Out of respect for the people who police the streets (over glorified trash collectors) one should cooperate and supply their personal id. otherwise the law could take one in for disturbing the peace and or obstructing justice. The cop wasn't on his toes with the law he needed to arrest the guy until he was properly id'd.

It's not a perfect world out there, try to be helpful, how many cops get killed on the job? is it easy to go into a job knowing those numbers? Don't be animals.

There must be a law against not cooperating with the authorities.

If the young cop were more cool headed he would have asked the dronefart to come in the station and show everyone that fantastic views of the station the dronefart could get with those new fangled drones and if the dronefart could come back and get more capture so the cops could use it in their next pr info with the public and schools, if not then the dronefart would have to leave for disturbing the peace, and some faa regulation, or some nefarious surveillance law.

The young cop should have replied with "I bet I can find something to arrest you on".

Drones = pest, nuisance.

I wonder if the guy filming could be charged with reckless endangerment or a similar crime. At the very least hes being irresponsible for flying over people and cars with what I'm guessing is a quadcopter that doesnt have prop guards.
