During the SWcp AIL/ELEV I end up with some high numbers to keep the swash ball from moving upp and down on the mainshaft.
Between 20-80, and even with those high numbers I cant get the interaction 100% tuned out, but I can get it around 90% better.

I can get the swash ball in one place at about 95% cyclic input ( both elev and ail at max/min pitch) stick travel, but its when I apply MAX 100% cyclic stick input, the last mm of travel, at the extremes, that the swash ball always seem to move a tiny bit up or down...
Normal?

Cheers

A bit a ball wiggle at extremes of travel is not unusual. Is the model in question direct link swash control?

Thanks Ben.

Yes its a direct link swash control heli. A SAB Urukay that Im going to use for F3C.

On SWcp ELEV at high stick, I enden up with 89% to ge the best result. That whas the highest number. At low stick i only needed around 20%.

AIL whas better overall..

How much neutral adjust did you use to center the servos?

20/23/75

AIL servo whas the one that needed the most subtrim.

Also I needed to modify the PITCH end point in the radio ( futaba 18 sz) from 100 to 109 on low pitch to get equal max/min pitch numbers.

Too much neutral adjust. 75 is WAY too much. I don't use more 10 on my models. I can live with 20. Custom make arms or disassemble servos and shift the gears to try to get the arms more square before resorting to neutral adjust. Or, use the JR adjustable arms. Direct link models already introduce more interaction at higher collective angles, and lots of subtrim makes matters worse.

I tried one more time to swap around the servohorns. Best results whas:

20/13/48

Better but not near 10.
I dont think the JR horns will fit on the Urukay, i think the bolt on the servohorn, where you clamp it down, will rubb against the bearingholder for the mainshaft.
Its a tight fit..

I will try some other horns, but I think it wount change much, as the splines is the same..

Update Ben.

I got some mikado servoarms.
Best I could do now is :

5/23/23 on subtrim. Much better.

But I hit a new "snag" .
Cyclic rate.

The Mikado arms is the longest I can use on the Urukay, as the ELEV servoarm will bind against the anti rotation bracket mouting hardware if I go any longer.

Still I end up with skyhigh "cyclic rate" numbers.
At 9 degrees im at 73%, at 10 im at 81%.
I cant use any longer arms, and I dont think SAB offer any longer swash control balls for this model.

Its a mess....

For what its worth I ended up with good number in vBar during the setup.
I guess the CGY whants less mechanical resolution?

Thanks for helping..

Anders,

It'll work FINE. I want you to PM Daniel Hiatt here on RR. He will be on our team and flies tthe gyro in that model. He'll give you good numbers. I don't think you're going to need so much static cyclic.
