Guys I have a question not necessarily gasser related but my storage problem is only with my large birds. We recently moved to a small mobile home with an attached 3 season porch on the front. Both the home and the porch have a metal roof with direct sun most of the day. The inside of the porch gets very hot. There are a few rooms inside I am still in the process of finishing and there is simply no way to store my scale MD 500 safely and especially out of reach of my 2 year old daughter. My only option at this point to bring it here (it is currently in my folks basement with a few of my other large birds and planks) is to hang it from the ceiling in the enclosed porch area. There are large open truss aluminium beams to suspend it from. With the high temps all day would it be safe or not a good idea? I run life rx packs and Coleman fuel. Would the Coleman vapors be an issue also?

Hey Jack

If you leave it at your parents you can safely store it in the basement, there will be no fumes or smells down there even if you ran gas as the basement is cold and will keep the fuel remnants from evaporating.

I wouldn't hang anything from the ceiling over time ropes can break from hot and cold and you could one day find it smashed on the floor. Coleman vapors would be all out if its stored somewhere hot (evaporated), you may or may not smell them but if it was gas it would smell right away and quite stinky in a hot enclosed space.

I'm thinking to go to this funfly you guys have on June 11th. Will be good to see you again!

Problem solved- it's going to live in my garage space at the end of the enclosed porch, at least for the summer months until it gets cold.

Good eye. She is actually standing in the door way if you can tell from pic, and I lock that door with a key at all times unless I am working out there so there is no way she could accidentally get at it. Eventually, when the interior rooms are finished, I hope to have a room with shelves specific for my helis. For now I have a few of the smaller ones hanging in various places indoors and this one I simply could not fit inside anywhere.
