I read this and thought it was great. If it is old, sorry, I kind of am as well...

Liberals don't own guns because they always put themselves in the position of being a victim and blaming others for their problems....

I'm glad to see that not all Liberals drink the KoolAid.

Gun control is horsecrap. It's not antigun. It's progun, because guns will be used to enforce gun control.

If you are for gun control, what you are really for is government monopolization on use of force.

Notice how it's always someone with AR15 armed guards who advocate for gun control? Think they'll get rid of their guards after they get your guns?

If the government were always there to protect me, and always had my self interests in their interests, I might accept a government monopolization on the use of force.

But history shows that government cannot protect you, even when it wants to. The SCOTUS ruled that they have no obligation to protect you. So you're on your own.

But that's not the worst of it. Negligence is a lot more forgivable than outright tyranny. History shows that government is oft used to put power into the hands of the few.

There have been PLENTY of gun control governments in the last 100 years, and their history is deplorable. Hitler. Stalin. Mao. Etc. etc.

If you aren't taking away someone's rights, you have nothing to fear from them. I fear the government that does not entrust it's people with force. That is the start of tyranny.

Tommytt1: you are indeed a liberal....there is no doubt about that. The fact that you own a gun probably just makes you a dangerous liberal.

But I could be wrong.....

Sounds like a good way to end up shot or stabbed!

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

To each there own.

I defend myself by being cognizant of my immediate surroundings and doing the best I can to keep myself from being in situations that would require me defending myself. But in the odd circumstance where I am caught in a situation that I am unable to remove myself from safely, I certainly dont want to be the guy that only brought his hands to a gun fight.

.45 ACP 230gr FMJ HP does some pretty nasty things to the human body.

About 40% of liberals own guns, and some more would if they did not have kids in the house. Very polarized topic in politics, but not not so much with the population.

Issues in politics are typically set by the elite. If they aren't interested in it, it isn't on the agenda. Notice how they speak unendingly about things which you really have no interest in, while rot sets in the areas that you consider important? You have to realize that you have no place at the table where the meeting takes place. Where the topics are chosen.

The media is elite owned. And they push whatever narrative the elite are interested in, UNENDINGLY.

Gun control is BS, pushed by the elite, who ensure their own arms for protection, while looking to take yours. Absolute BS. Anyone who parrots the elite's talking points is no friend of mine. They are the useful idiot who the elites use to take power.

The only thing between them and absolute rule is what's left of the constitution and a populace that can resist. They would like nothing more than to control it all. Which is why the Federalist Papers constantly speak to the reasons for the 2nd Amendment.

Anyone who thinks the 2nd Amendment is "outdated" is supremely ignorant of human history. You really think human nature has changed so profoundly in 200 years that men will never need the means to resist anymore? Really? I have a bridge to sell you.

It can happen QUICK. By quick, I mean in a matter of seconds. One second, the world you occupy is normal, predictable, mundane, and enjoyable. The very next second you are frantically looking for an escape and simultaneously wondering if you will make it through the harrowing experience.

I know this from first hand experience. Let me tell you, it's no picnic. I lived a full 32 years before I had that experience. I have lived another 14 years since that experience without a repeat. It may NEVER EVER happen again - I hope it never does. Odds are, it will NEVER happen to the majority of folks, and it will never happen to me again. But IF it does, I will not be as concerned as I was 14 years ago; I "learned my lesson" that day: help/assistance is not as immediate as you think. I am now armed, trained, and ready.
