Well it's been five years since I last flew, divorced, moved house and a new partner.

Found a new flying as though might try again, so I went and purchased T-700E DFC, (a bit powerful, none the less I gave it a go) found myself very unfamiliar with the flybarless system , but with a little bit of help from the talented Jamie Cole, the copter was airborne and with my delight I watched his 15 year son Aron do a figure of 8 and hover a few times, it was then my turn, all I can say is wow! how lively or was it the fact I never had that much power at my hands before, but there again it has been five years or so.
The hover was tentative adrenalin pumping yet very fulfilling. really enjoyed todays attempt and am looking forward to the next episode.
Guess you could say I'm back.

cheers

I am with you!

I have been out for 6 years and although I have not had my first flight, it is on the bench and I am learning the flybarless electronics. Hope to get it up and feel that rush soon.

Still not ready for a maiden but I went to the field this weekend and what a change.

When I left you could count on 6 or 8 helicopter guys at a minimum on the weekends. Now there is only one other guy. Don't know where they all went. We used to fly in the snow, wind anything short of rain. Now we get a 60 degree day in early spring and one guy comes out .

The airplain guys are talking about taking our side of the field back... Really can't let that happen.

Need some new blood in Delaware.

There is none around

Where are you hiding these days?

Just finished setting it up, mounted the blades to double check the pitches and an align servo failed

Never even got a maiden in on it. Trying to decide if I just scrap them all and buy something else or get the replacement and try my luck

Up Date

Up date on learning to fly again,

Well it has been totally exasperating, the second-hand model has let me down, (lesson learnt, Never buy a used one unless you know it) a component came off in flight, so had a head rebuild, bit costly but at least I know it's now right, so back in the air briefly, then the sprag bearing let go.
No damage though thank the lord..... "Geez what next". Really having trouble finding one over here, have noticed that the Synergy N9 one is the same dims, any one ever tried one?
A persistent so and so me

Regards

I'm getting back into flying also. I was side tracked after buying a house and attempting to make repairs on it. Then I got busy at work with people retiring and I had to cover their shift. I was going to sell off all my stuff but just couldn't do it. I enjoyed the hobby to much. I'm also learning fbl setup.

Are you looking for a sprag from a Synergy N9? Or a Trex 700?
Might be able to fix you up..

Update on being back.

Hi,
as almost 7 months have gone by I thought I would let you all know how it's going on. Well I could have done with lots more stick time buy they ho that's family's for you.
Currently now flying trex n dfc with converted efl head(love it)and the new trex 700X Align servos, Spartan Vortex vx1n gyros great and works really well for me, at ease too set up.
Now onto circuits, Loops, rolls, stall turns and nose in and doing all left and right hand.
I have also purchased a Phoenix flight sim to learn inverted and backwards flight. I suppose stick time is the key as only just started and am finding it difficult to say the least.
Any advise??

Regards Nigel

Stick time, you said it. Fly as much as you can. You feel your self trying new things the more comfortable you get. I try to fly every other day if possible, and get some Sim in at night. I find that I get just a little better everyday.

enjoy !
