The manual says .5 to .75 turns out for the idle screw. Mine was set at .75 turns out though like I said my idle was high. It started up and flew fine but if I would land it and lower the throttle to the point the blades would stop spinning then the engine would die. I'm not sure I would necessarily go by the manual settings though. If you can I would try Richard's suggestion of the pinch test.

I have not (pinch test) I'll try that next. I also went on the YS site and found the factory settings. I'll keep you posted.

OK, got the low end set Now the hover and high end. I set the hover at 2.00 and the high 2.00 the motor ran very very good, but the motor was really hot. So, I changed them, hover 2.25 high 2.25 I'm finish for today. Changed out plug to OS8.

I'll start again tomorrow. What temp should the motor be?

Around 105C or 220F at around 17C air temperature but also depends on elevation and humidity! I never tune by temp only feel the back plate to make sure I'm somewhere near.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Update

OS plug no good for this YS91SRX It last for only 4 flights, so I will go with Enya 3 plugs. I got to get more fuel and plugs tomorrow to finish up.

Charles I never worry about my low end until I have high and hover set. You may have to return to high and mid(hover) after you set low end but I do that last and tweak as necessary.

Update

Ok
got the Enya #3 plug installed and put my Hover at 1.75 and my High at 1.50. I put 4 clicks on the hover and like 3 clicks out on the high.

Flt. was outstanding, may need small adjustments but for now its flying great. I'm going to fly again tomorrow to see if I have the same results. I'll update tomorrow.

Great Charles, that's where most of my 91,96 srx,s are happy , but like you said most of the time the first flight of the day may require some adjustments.

Hey all,

I was chasing my 91SRX around for a while. Couldn't get it to be happy or run right. Finally the other day, I had the idea of switching back to a regular align clunk, instead of my Lynx MOAS clunk. All my problems went away. Fuel delivery is key for these engines. I also had been using an enya 5 plug and switched to the enya 3 and it seems to smoothen out the tuning and run more consistently. I am in no way saying the Lynx MOAS clunk is bad, maybe it was just mine that had issues. But it has made a world of difference.

No problems in my two n7s with the MOAS, but thanks for the tip because that's the first thing I will do if I do have issues.
