did you go through the swash detail menu , that really helped with my e5 , I would even say it transformed it , all the little niggles I had almost disappeared and tuning became much much easier

the easiest way to see the interactions when going through the detail menu is to take a sharpie and with full positive or negative collective draw a line where the heim ball meets the main shaft , then when you move the ele or aileron you can see if the ball is moving up or down , there were a coup0le of parameters on my setup that the correction direction was wrong so I was getting some interactions when flying , it helped a lot with tik toks

I'm now thinking that Vibration might be the issue.
In the crash the boom got nicked and I thought its probably fine, which it would of easily been if this were a belt driven tail.
But I'm thinking that maybe one of the bearings supporting the torque tube might have been damaged.

So I'll start by replacing the boom and torque tube to see.

Normal

That is normal now in 3d mode. You can still switch in F3c mode.

Good videos, very informative.

About my drifting...
I took the boom apart and noticed while doing so that the boom support bracket at the back of the boom was not tightened, screw fell out from me not tightening it in the first place when I replaced parts.
So that was the actual cause of the major vibration.

Drifting is now gone.
But I still need to do some tuning.Tail is stopping solid one way but giving some bounce in the other direction. plus other tuning thingies to take care of. Videos help here :-) great timing.

Note about expo... if you are coming from a different system check your expos. The CGY750 has default expo set at -20 the rudder as well as the head, so beware if you already have expo defined in your transmitter... you'll have double expo. Makes for rather slow response around middle stick.

I could be wrong but I think the expo in the cgy is there to make the movement of the stick feel linear , and will feel like there is no expo ,I added -20% in my radio too to get the feel I wanted
as far as the tail stops , that is the control delay out in the rudder expert menu I think I had to turn mine up to around 18 to stop the bounce

According to the 1,4 videos the expo should be set to zero if using the expo in the radio.

With the new tuneability of 2.0, you can pretty much leave the 750 expo at default and tune the feel with control authority and style with maybe a dash of added Tx expo for things such as precision hover. I would encourage that previous tuning guidelines, at least for the cyclic gyro part of the 750 menu, be abandoned in favor the new videos and information posted in the 2.0 threads. 2.0, at least in 3D mode, is a completely different animal than 1.4. Much, much better.

Can I resurrect this thread?

I've run into a little bit of a tuning issue that I'm sure there is a shortcut to solving.

I just replaced the servos in my older X-Cell Tempest. The helicopter was flying fine before the new servos but they had some time on them and I wanted to try something new.

The helicopter still flies good enough but now "aileron" rolls are a series of herky-jerky stops and starts. It's as if the heli is moving in 20 deg increments. It is worth noting that if you just smoothly peg the roll stick and hold it, the helicopter will do the prettiest non-stop rolls. If you jab the stick into a 90, 180 or 360 roll, you get the lurching roll.

I'm going to the field tomorrow to play with the "Head hold" and "Stop tune" function. I will also spend time with the "Head Response" function. Any suggestions? Anyone else seen this before?

On to the second question... Part of the problem with working out my tuning problems is that the helicopter is now using about 950 mAh per flight. The older servos were using about 600 mAh per flight but the newer, higher torque/higher speed servos, are now consuming more battery. I can now only get 2 flights safely out of a 3,400 mAh LiIon battery. Is everyone else seeing the same battery consumption? I'm using almost 1,000 mAh per 10 minute flight and that equates to about a constant 6 amp draw. Does anyone else see a problem with this?

Any help?

Bill
