Has anyone any information on how to remove the no fly zones on the Q500, as I can't use it at my club flying site, because it's within the 4 mile radius of an airport, Gps will also not disable on the controller so it will not start, beginning to regret buying the thing,

hook q500 up to your computer

there are settings that should be able to be changed in there so you can fly. Im not a hundred percent sure but if memory serves me right you should be able to turn that off or change a setting or two so you can fly.

That's interesting, never thought you could change that setting. I have the same situation at my club.

well after having the settings looked at, there is no way to turn off the no fly zones, unless you can get into the actual programing itself, just wish I was told this when I bought it, bloody thing, wonder if they will give me my money back, no chance I bet, I would advise people to look elsewhere if they want a drone, I won't be recommending these to anyone, yuneec can shove these where the sun don't shine

Yuneec

I was ready to purchase a Yuneec, but now that I know I will be controlled by the drone as to where I fly, "to hell with it". I do not like being controlled by the government, and now the drone.

Before you throw in the towel, update your firmware to the latest version. Take the time to do it properly and make sure that you successfully install the software on your computer, first. As you power up the transmitter with the new firmware, you will now see a gear icon in the lower right corner of the screen. You tap that and bring up the screen to allows you to disable the GPS very quickly and in most cases, before a solid GPS lock can be established. It's worth the time to try it. Hope that helps.

Don is correct. You may also alter the default vertical height and lateral distance from the TX.

Contact me for info on how to remove no fly zone restrictions. I believe we are all adults and follow the rules without yuneec blocking us out.

I know you can disable the GPS on the quad copter itself, the problem I think is with the st10 transmitter because it has GPS inside itself that keeps you from flying as well. I don't think there is any way to disable the GPS in the transmitter. I'm wondering, is there a way to unplug the sensor inside the transmitter or disable it?
