Doesn't look like they are going to put the curves back from 0 to 100. Oh well learned to work with what is there now anyway.

Perhaps that will be addressed in a future release.

I doubt it. It seems like this would have been the time to do it when they are updating curves.

Where do spline curves come in over straight point to point curves.

I can't update my 18sz

Hi guys

I downloaded the update 1.4E and put the unzipped folder on an SD card and inserted it into the radio.

To start the update the procedure is to press on the home/exit key and then simultaneously press the power switch according to the instructions on the hobbico site.

However when I do that the radio simply turns on and never goes to the update mode. I have tried many times.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. My current firmware is 1.1J. I guess this means it is the Japanese version. Is the update procedure different for the Japanese version of the 18sz?

1. Down load the zip folder on to your computer

2. Extract the zip folder on your computer.

3. The Futaba folder will be created on your computer

4. Copy the Futaba folder into your SD card.

5. Insert the card in the transmitter

6. Turn on the transmitter power while pressing down the "HOME/EXIT" button. The update screen appears on the LCD display of your 18SZ and the software update is started.

Hope this helps

Rich

that does not work. The update screen does not appear on the LCD display using that combination. It simply turns on. I have the Japanese version o the radio - the current firmware version is 1.1J.

Is there a difference in the firmware procedure between the Japanese and US radios?

Solved. The E version works on the J version. It is that the instructions are piss poor.

If you simply extract the file and put it on the SD card it does not go into software update mode at all.

The instructions do not make that clear. Instead it says that if there is some error with the file an error message will be displayed.

All brands of s/w updates require a specific directory/folder structure. That is how they find the file.

The update talks about compatibility with the futaba sbs-01C yet I can't find any information about that sensor (or where to buy it) anywhere on the futaba site. When will it be released?

What ESC are you using. It its a CC Edge series , I would wait for CASTLE-TL0 adapter (Kontronic already makes an adapter). With the Castle/Kontronic adapter you get lot more then just current. CASTLE-TL0 should be getting released very soon. But The SBS-01C is attractive too because its not inline like the E-fuel and Robbe F1678. They both introduce another point of failure .
