No. Following what was my initial gut and now AMA instruction. Will wait until last day.

FWIW, you have until 19 February to comply. Really don't get the urgency from some among us to be first in line to be bent over. Shrug.

Fwiw..

I currently will not comply. Prima facie, this is a minor annoyance....but the government has a history of poor data handling, and I really don't think they need me in yet another database which will be immediately hacked.
I intend to talk to the AMA in Jan. at the show, see where they stand on this at that point. My contact with them so far leads me to believe a lawsuit is either in the works or filed.
I have spoken to a friend who is a lawyer, his feeling after a bit of reading is that the FAA is in violation of sec. 336 of the reform act, and may have rendered this attempt at registration fruitless due to procedural errors during tne comment period...

Considering the safety record of MODEL aviation in the US, this is sheer stupidity..agan showing the propensity of bureaucrats at any level for "brigt line" regulation...proving they are anything but.

The AMA has now recommended that you not register...now....after such negative feedback from our members.

No...,

I will not register until the last possible day...
I will continue to support the AMA, and it's efforts to try and squash this un-needed, useless program...

I don't ever intend to register

I will take my chances at least till I see several people prosecuted under this "LAW"

Unless the AMA requires it as a condition membership

Then I don't know ?

ageing is manditory maturity is optional

I am like Doorman I will wait just in case but really there isn't going to be anything stopping it in the near future. Only two things can stop it [well maybe three if the FAA gets their head out of their collective behinds] first is congress but already told by them it wont be till next fall at the earliest. 2 court system saying it is unconstitionL but that won't happen in 2 months either. Unfortunately we are stuck for the time being

Realistically if this is the worst thing that happened to the hobby I can live with this and it isn't enough to give up. For those of you that thinks this is going to compromise your personal information? Be real it already is all over the place. My boy went to school with a kid that in a half hour he could prolly have all of your info including bank account numbers if he wanted. There are ppl everywhere that can do that. The school put in a new security system and firewall in their computer and told everyone it was impossible to hack. He showed them it could be done in 20 min. I don't agree with the registration but if you used your debt card today you have already compromised your info more than this will

I plan on registering but I am going to wait and see how this whole thing works out.

if you are worried about your credit card info getting stolen just buy a prepaid visa card.

I have been reading some of the topics on this and is it $5 for every heli I own or just 5 bucks to register your name?

Yes and it is $5 for registering a pilot... not each aircraft.

As soon as I wake up tomorrow. If the AMA had done anything on my other issue, it would be different.

Ya know, I bet MANY "no's" in this thread will eventually register. I may have said no, but that's only a no through the grace period. I'm not brave enough to go toe to toe should it be upheld.

What exactly are you asking, OP?

If it turns out to be the law of the land, then yes, I'll register. I won't be happy about it, however.
