I charted the IR on my four 6S packs with my Powerlab8.
I noticed all the cells were fairly consistent except for all of the #6 cells which were higher.
I even tried updating the firmware on the charger and I'm still getting the same result.
What the heck?
Is there something inherent in 6S packs that would cause this or do I have an issue giving me false readings?

It's quite odd ... Happens to me all the time. I also have a 4010 and it seems the IR is all within the same range. I would switch the packs from PL8 v2 to the 4010 than back to PL8 v2. It freaked me out at first but I got used to it and not too concerned anymore. Sometimes it would up in the thirties, and I know these packs are known good.

The best way is to get a battery cell IR analyzer from progressive if you want to be in the know. Not cheap but works great

Thanks Scott.
So you see higher numbers in the sixth cells too?

90% of the time, it's the last cell since I have 7S and 8S.
(I make those packs from bad packs ...so I can't say the sixth, LOL).

- if it's a 6S, than it's the sixth cell
- if it's an 8S pack, it's the eighth cell.

But I found out when the first cell reading is high on the PL8 v2, it's usually correct. Of all my packs that goes bad, 80% of them is the first cell. But if it's the 2 pack, it's usually the first cell of the rear pack.

Newbie here:

The PowerLab 8 indicates that it is "calculating" IR. Is it calculating the IR or is it actually measuring it? The initial IR changes while it is charging - 3 minutes into the charge the reading have increased and at the end of the charge they are different too.
Strangely the 6th cell of a fully charged 6S pack is usually lower.
I hope I am not hijacking this thread. I wanted to find out from those in the know.

Make sure you're using the latest firmware for your PL8. I believe v3.31 corrected an issue with IR measurement. Also, make sure you are using the correct wiring mode for the balance adapter you're using (e.g., FMA or XH wiring mode).
