Your sure going to need a lot of those cells to feed a Kosmik, or even a Castle for that matter

The Li-polymer cell we are using for model heli is amazing with 50 C discharging rate. It`s not easy to find any battery system with this kind of high rate performance. The 18650 cell structure is originaly designed for notebook computer. safty consideration is the first priority in their cell design.

Planks like this kid was flying dont require a high discharge rate. Where as helis need that discharge as well as the ability to withstand bursts of higher than normal amps at given points durring flight.

Its just a high density laptop cell... What's the excitement?

We used to use them (the 2600 mAh flavor) as RX packs back before life and lipo where popular... No where near the C rating you need for main power.

Tried E-Moli's and A123's in helis way back in the day. Ok for just cruising around a little. Some guys had pretty good performance from them. This was way back in the day, early 2000's. Long threads on RCG about similar cells. Back when Lipo's were like what? 8c..

These might do well in foamies etc..Put a 12s pack in a light heli and that'll be the test. Experimenting is fun though.

This is the cell used in the JR 28X and XG14E transmitter. Good RX pack. That's all folks. Would make a good 14MZ/12Z pack.

I do have a question. What sort of regulator are you using to step down the voltage on older servo's

I would think that any regulator currently being used on lipos should work......such as the Align B6T 2 In 1 Voltage Regulator.
