AMA has chimed in that this registration is worth fighting.

Stay bent, my friends.

I can't believe they'll make it so you can look up a person's name and address if you have their registration number. Why is that? So some vigilante idiot can track them down and cause issues? What a bunch of bull crap. All that's going to do is cause people (at least the smart ones) to really, really hide their registration number very well on their models.

Per the article it was meant as a "nudge" to make drone pilots more responsible. But I'm with you, a "nudge" could be a guy punching you in the face. NOT COOL.

Had the registry been limited to law enforcement access, you'd at least stand the chance of a trial before "extrajudicial punishment."

Stay bent, my friends.

No, it isn't cool at all. People get shot for things getting in a stranger's face in a threatening manner. Especially on their property.

So, hide yo numbers, folks... Hide them well...

Who cares? Get physically violent with a person on their property or any other place they have a legal right to be? GOOD SHOOT. Gotta love states with a castle and stand your ground doctrine.

The weight of "two sticks of butter" lmao thats a rich one. Must've been April 1st over at the FAA that day. I can just see it now FAA officials always carrying two sticks of butter in their pockets and a balance scale to see which models should and should not be registered. lol Its just pure nonsense from any angle.

A publicly searchable FAA registry as it is for manned aircraft.

Quite the opposite. It's evidence of too little real existence-threat type issues and too much time on one's hand. Ya know. .. "First world problems." Happy to have something of this small a magnitude as the most critical worry!

I posted the following in three other threads. I feel the need to share here. Sorry if it is too long. But I am of tired being silent. I WILL NOT BE A LEMMING!
It is a shame that we have a nation of "followers", "believers", and kool-aid drinkers". People forget that our founding fathers helped create a nation of freedom seeking, government mistrusting, and liberty loving individuals.

Our own founding fathers did not trust the government they formed.

Yet everyday we give away our rights, slowly, one by one.

Lemmings that see no wrong in..."just registering", "its only five dollars", "how is that an inconvenience".

All of you who see no wrong in the government slowing intruding in your life should open a history book, read the federalist papers, study the fall of other great civilizations.

The true nature of any government is to take and control power. To have dominion and maintain it. Our founding fathers knew this.

Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis said it best when describing the government's "purposes" even when the government and the people believe it might be beneficial.

"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government’s purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding."—Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, Olmstead v. U.S. (1928)

Herman Goering, Reichsmarschall of the Germany's Luftwaffe, even know how to mislead and blind an entire nation. Give them a cause, give them a fear, and then lead them to an answer given by the government. And if anyone spoke out against the absurdity of the governmental solution, they were branded as lacking patriotism.

Today anyone that has a dissenting opinion, or has a more conservative view on something, is immediately called racist, bigot, a something-phobic.

People, wake up, smell your country burning around you. Yes, that is Nero in the flames playing his fiddle!

Our rights are only taken away, when you the people, give them up. One small bit at a time.

During the Nuremberg trials Herman Goering said the following:

“Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.”

Of course those of you that want to ignore history, deny it happened, or brand it racist and bigoted...well the, you would have no idea who Goering was......

It really makes me sick to see people putting every stupid cause of not getting just what they want in line with what our forefathers did.

For what they did, they did so as there was a massive injustice that equaled the need for what they did.

An piss off to anyone who is thinking your stupid toy an the registering of it in an attempt to try to keep you from using it wrong is in anyway even remotely close to what was happening against the people of an of who created this county.

An don't forget that after, those same people went on to create all kinds of rules an regulations of there own as they understood that with great freedom comes great responsibility an that there are always going to be people who will look to abuse their freedoms an in ways that are a threat or harm to others.

Despite what it is you want, you can't have a country where everyone just does what ever they want, when ever they want, how ever they want to who ever they want an so on...that isn't freedom..or liberty.

With freedom comes the responsibility to not bring harm others in your pursuits, an when there are those who think they can do so as they feel the getting of their wants outweigh everyone an everything else, typically in the end they have to be taught the hard way this is not the case.

I see what you are saying, but no one here is advocating to just do whatever you want and put others in danger. Most here want individuals to be held to account for individual behavior.

What we resent is ineffective legislation that doesn't directly address the problem and only catches responsible people in their too-big-of-a-net.

This type of legislation, accepted as effective, will lead to further and further restrictions. As long as you pass laws that don't address the issue, there will always be "more that needs to be done." And when society isn't vigilant to the reaches of government, you're left with incrementalism toward the tyrannical states you're talking about. No one here is trying to be a founding father. We are trying to honor their sacrifices and call to eternal vigilance. To honor this, we refuse to accept a step in a bad direction unless absolutely necessary. If we don't budge unless absolutely necessary, our progeny will never again forced to do what they did.

FWIW Pretty sure ol Ben Franklin would have appreciated flying his kite without registration.

Honor their sacrifices...are you friggen kidding me....this is just the stuff I am talking about...none of this...repeat none of this is even coming close to being able to be compared to that kind of stuff...its toys an children an the misuses they are doing with them.

Have you seen this vid?

Watch at YouTube

An you're saying this kind of stuff isn't a danger to others?

An that there should be some attempt to try to have a way to hold these people accountable for this kind of stuff if an when they do this kind of stuff an try to get away with no accountability?

The only threat to Freedoms an Liberties are these kinds of people who do the wrong things like this with them, an if your not one of them, then there will be no issues for you.

...an if for any reason there is a need for more regulations as what is being done does not stop this kind of stuff, then it is the people doing it who are at fault, not the ones trying to stop them.

You didn't read the inference where I said I'd support a law that actually would solve it. This registration will in no way prevent events like that video

Btw. One of the founding complaints was taxation without representation.

Don't you think that if all of the kinds of equipment that is out there, along with every bit of the community all knows an tells all that if you do this stuff that one, its very against the law, an two if you get caught doing it there will be massive fines an all kinds of other bad draw backs...an all brought upon you by the federal government, that this will stop a lot of them doing this kind of stuff?

At the end of the day, the only way to 100% stop it is to outlaw all R/C, an so again, if that is what it comes to as all these people keep playing this game where they just can't play with their toys properly, that again, will be their fault.

As an AMA LOS field flyer I take exception to you calling me a problem. We operated safely for 80 years

And the people doing the idiotic stuff are not part of anything you can call a "community."
