You are so right Don. Thanks

I wish it was already correct from the factory because I would be on to other details rather than correcting an inaccuracy. Roban need me in their team :-)

I honestly think these manufacturers do it on purpose for a few reasons:

1: Being an "interpretation" of the original might make it easier to fight in court if they were to battle the makers of the full sized.

2: Having inconsistencies with the full sized subject make it easier to spot and thus fight the cloners!

3: Too many cost/engineering challenges to create a smaller version of the fullsize thus they don't even try to replicate accurately.

Just my two cents!

Are the trailing edges a new design? Or have you just not gotten that far yet?

ive been noticing this tr blade shape on a few helicopters out there, like the b3 I am doing and also on an agusta A119 I saw a few months ago. Tail rotor blade design right alongside of main rotor balde design have entered a new generation on fullsize helicopters.
since making my own comes easy for me, whipping up a set for my Astar was a given

Well I made some major changes to the mechanics since I wasn't crazy about the complexity, the difficulty in working on it and the noise of the drive train. I used a few original parts from the mechs and redesigned it. I got rid of the belt and pulleys, retained the clutch and incorporated the more simpler pinion and main gear design. The control system is also redesigned using some miniature bell cranks along with the original anti rotation links with the phasing built into the control system below the swash-plate. now its much quieter and still flies great. will do some forward flight later this week. I have some G-10 sheets on order so I can replace the 1/8th in. lite ply side frames.

Holly Crapper Batman!! Outrages skills. I see the tail drop down 30t gear is still there along with the same metal tail gears at the proper angle. Did you mill that main shaft? Or is it off something else? I see the servos in the same place and elevator assembly, so the BIG question for me is what are you using as a main shaft locking collar on the top bearing. Can the elevator linkage clear it ok? I think Whopper Chopper would like to know also.
Awesome work man. Get a patent on that design.
