You are 100% right about the clutch. It looks and sounds so awesome! I can't wait to see it in the fuselage.

thanks you two, yeah maybe a few more flights n then its start fitting to the fuselage. I did change out all the roban balls and links on the swash and the bellcranks because they fit so tight and my ball link resizing tool doesn't work on the roban links because the roban balls are a half of a hair larger. now it feels even smoother because the swash movement isn't so tight.

First flight in the fuselage went well without any issues. the mechanics are much quieter now that its all enclosed. it was seriously windy today but it handled very well considering.

I miss the warmth of Florida, sigh. I am seriously jealous as I want to fly this week and the weather might be finally closing in, sniff. Nice looking in the white. What is your choice for final finish?

ok so now its been flown a few times with no issues. its time to start some work on the fuselage.
first order of business is the landing gear. while the welded aluminum is very nice and lightweight, its just not quite right in appearance so I will make up a new set. next, the sliding door doesn't open all the way so the sliding mechanism will be modifies to allow it to open just the fraction more it needs. next one will be a challenge, the windshield. particularly the lower frame section. the angle is not correct so some cutting of the glass work and a new sheet of plastic is in order. The main shaft will be replaced with a longer one, about an inch longer so the rotorhead and swash sits up a little higher. I am working on getting a scale rotorhead for this machine as I think it will really compliment its over all appearance. The baldes that came with the kit in my opinion are too narrow and too light in weight. the rotortech blades I am using are about 50 grams heavier and a big difference in handling is noticed and for me so far I don't see a 3 axis gyro being necessary.......yet, we will wait n see how it is when it gets heavy with details. The t/r blades are really nice, but since I will be running an extremely low rotor rpm, I will need them to be at the least longer and maybe a hair wider like I did with my 407. I will let the workers in my t/r manufacturing plant know the specs and get them to whip up a pair or two .
I am halfway thinking of cutting some of the access hatches and baggage doors out but I am going to think on that a bit more.
The interior that camne with the kit is ok, I really like the seats but unfortunately they are very different from the medevac machine I will be copying grrrr! but making new seats is all part of the fun

Rich I love the xcells, I have like six of them and all are in fuselages or heading there. I think the design lends itself to just about any fuselage out there and I miss that. may have to see if I can scheme it away from Roy when he isn't looking or maybe distract him with my Chinook lol!!
