Whatever happened to the law that exempts "hobby use" ? ?
SEC. 336. SPECIAL RULE FOR MODEL AIRCRAFT.
r/c operation itself is not regulated by the registration

Wow. You really going to excuse them using that doublespeak logic?

First the FAA interprets Sec 336 as: "oh it says no "new" rules. We aren't making "new" rules. These rules applied all along because models were always aircraft. So we're not making new rules. The old rules are just being modified."

You seriously don't see the distortion required? Only LAWYERS could come up with such a line of reasoning.

I can't stand doublespeak and meaning distortion. It's like I'm reading Animal Farm all over again where words change meaning depending on some nefarious agenda.

So let me get this straight. Are you now saying, "oh, a registration isn't a rule."

You guys are literally playing the Orwellian doublespeak game. A registration backed by fines and sentences is most CERTAINLY regulatory.

Are you a lawyer, or something? Or politician? Only lawyers and politicians can distort meaning to that extent.

"This is in the RC HELICOPTER SECTION, gentlemen. That's the AMA definition of RC Helicopter, now.
Still think they have fidelity with their base?!?"

Many would argue that the fact that there is even a Helicopter section to begin withis proof that AMA lost fidelity with their base many many many years ago.

Read THIS between the lines:

The FAA has handed down registration requirements.
Revmix agrees to pay registration fees for
his own model. In addition, registration will be required from
all modelers.

Just lines 2 and 4 now:

Revmix agrees to pay registration fees for
all modelers.

And tell me that doesn't distort meaning.

Between the lines. Sheesh.

OK so you're saying the FAA could be as mistaken as I am in "interpreting"

I can get behind that.

as mistaken as
not at all, you can still play r/c without registration, not the flying is penalized but the way it is done [same as careless or reckless, both part of Safety Code & section 336]
