Are you using the right procedure to bind the two together? If you have not flown them for over a year you might be forgetting a step in the binding process. Get your transmitter book out and reread the binding process.

Try binding the receiver very close to the transmitter (like a foot away). I had a similar problem drove me nuts and actually sent back a transmitter module before I figured it out.

This is Futaba FASST, correct?

Are the receiver batteries charged?

Anything happened to the transmitter during the break? It's a common denominator.

There's also an old service advisory for Futaba TX's regarding zero code ID. Read thru this link and see if your TX serial number is included. Goes way back to 2008, so if you have a newer transmitter, you're probably not affected.

My guess is it's just the distance problem. Unlike Spektrum binding, the recvr for fuataba has to be real close. I had mine a couple feet away and they would not bind. Moved them 12" apart and the problem went away.

Not sure why you lost bind after letting them sit awhile. Maybe the TX voltage dropped and lost the bind data in memory?

We had a guy at our field with a similar problem. His receiver would bind, but would soon come "unbound". Tried all the usual checks and finally sent the receiver back to service -- they checked it and found it to function correctly.

More head scratching. AH HA! Bad cell in flight pack battery. The pack would have adequate voltage coming of the charger and would bind without a problem. However, the voltage would soon drop due to the bad cell and the receiver would come unbound.

New flight pack battery and problem solved.
