This is a GREAT place to share your 3D printing parts or Ideas.. Good job Mark...

Come on guys. Let's share some files.. I'll start out with one I have for Spektrum satellite mounts.. It's not my drawing, I found it online and have used it a few times.. The file is in my gallery. Click all photos, then all files..

Thanks again Mark

Hi guys,
my lovely wife bought me an XYZ 3D printer for Xmas.

I know nothing about 3D printing so be patient.

I want to make some small parts for my scale helicopters.
I found you can buy a 3D scanner to scan parts you want to replicate. Any suggestions on which one is good and not too expensive?

Is there a way to provide a nice smooth finish with a 3D printer? Most of the 3d printed parts I've seen while they might provide form and function, look like total garbage with built up layers...Not attractive at all.

I have printed similar spektrum antenna clips for two of my helis. Works very well.
Also printed several bombs for dropping from fixed wingers.

I have seen on forums that someone is selling printed mounts for fbl unit that replace the goblin pedestal and tail bolt retainers for their 700 sized helis. I really want that file but, I can imagine that the seller is not going to part with it easily. They are selling for about 20 bucks!

Hey does anyone have the part .stl being recommended by Kyle Stacy that replaces the pedestal FBL mount on goblins?

And,
Does anyone know of an stl for decent skid clamps? I hvae printed the one that is on thingiverse 8mm to 10mm ones, but they arent big enough.

I dont WANT to break it!

I would have thought a skid clamp would have been an ideal subject to start to learn to work with a CAD design system. It took me 10 minutes to create an STL file for my Grandsons Trex 500. Too small for you.

If you continue to rely on free STL files you are kinda wasting the potential of your printer.
