I'm using a DX9 on RF 7.5, problem with Throttle and governor mode. I can't get a start up with motor not winding up to wide open and no way to shut it down. Collective works with throttle stick, but no control of head speed. I saw a DX8 setup, tried that, but no success. I have a DX8 that I use for the helis, and thought that the DX9 wasn't being used, so I was going to use it on 7.5. Any suggestions??

Have you tried this setup, it is for my DX8 but should work for any Spektrum transmitter.

First thing I did was create a new heli model in my DX8. Made the following settings:
Model type - Helicopter
Swash Type - Normal

Switches:
Trainer inh
F Mode inh
Gear Gear
L Trim inh
Mix inh
Gov inh
R Trim inh
Knob Aux3

F Mode:
Flight Mode - Ele D/R or your switch preference
Hold - Gyro

In Function List
Throttle Curve:
N - flat 30% all settings (some helis need higher to come out of idle)
IU1 - 60% all settings
IU2 - 100% all settings

Set your pitch curves to your liking

In Governor:
Channel set to Aux2
Switch - Ele D/R or what you want
Pos1 30%
Pos2 60%
Pos3 100%

Have no channels reversed in servo set up in the Spektrum transmitter.

Start RF and open Simulation tab and then open Select Controller.
In the Interlink Elite box select Spektrum from the drop down menu.
In the Radio Transmitter Profile box I made one called Spektrum RF Sim.
Open up the Edit link for the Spektrum RF Sim transmitter and turn off Enable Software Mixes and Enable Software Radio Dual Rates and Expo. Set up the channels as listed below.

Spektrum to RF Channels
1 throttle = 3 throttle
2 aileron = 1 aileron (reverse in RF)
3 elevator = 2 elevator
4 rudder = 4 rudder (reverse in RF)
5 gear = 5 (reverse in RF)
6 pitch = 6 flaps
7 governor = 7 smoke
8 aux3 = 8 mode

Once completed with this click save settings and then open up the Transmitter Calibrate box and follow the instructions. You will have to flip throttle hold and the flight mode switches to calibrate throttle.

Governor on Aux2 and not the throttle curves is what controls the speed settings in RF. I have found that electrics work fine at the 30/60/100 settings but engine driven helis stay at idle at 30% and need a higher N throttle setting, just haven't fooled with it since I fly electrics all the time.

DX9 setup

I saw your setup with DX8 and after trying several things on the DX9, tried your set up on my DX8, which actually is my heli radio for flying. I finally got it to work. I did have to adjust the governor head speeds in 7.5 model edit to get them where I wanted. I used the navigation window to monitor the head speed. The realflight seems to be catered to airplanes, but will do to practice moves and keep up flying time during winter months.
Thanks, glad you posted the setup, so I could get going.

Glad you were able to get things sorted out. I had all kinds of issues when I first started fooling with getting a Spektrum transmitter up and running on RF but it was well worth the effort.
