Thinking of taking of the header on my N5C,as I think it spoils the look and adds weight and she is heavy as it is,I never ran a fuel magnet as seen one fall apart in the tank despite filling up after every flight, was thinking of putting the OS Bubbless clunk in and using the bubbless fuel filter for insurance, running on muffler pressure, mostly 3d flying, tried the lynx clunk and all it did was float a while back,so I took that out, anybody still using the bubbless on there Synergy.

I too tried the Lynx clunk and didn't like it. It stayed on top of the fuel and would leave a little more than a 1/4 tank of fuel.

I tried the O.S. bubbless and wasn't impressed. It would leave a 1/4 tank of fuel as well.

I've been using the fuel magnet for a while now, this season, in both Synergy helis...N5 & N7. So far I haven't had a problem. I will change the foam filter once winter hits, that or remove the foam and wait until spring to install the new one.

I personally am not a big fan of the these type of "clunks", I prefer the traditional style clunks...a big and somewhat heavy chunk (not like the O.S. style, the planker "cone" style, or bullet style) of metal bouncing around in the tank, constantly submerged in fuel. However, they do work...and require some maintenance.

My main concern would be the line might be out of fuel when nose down etc,to eliminate the problem I guess I would have to use a much more flexible tubing to follow the fuel BUT keep the bubbless fuel filter just in case I do get air,the good thing about the OS clunk it does draw in fuel from the sides were standard clunk draws from the bottom.

get some Hayes fuel tubing for inside the tank. it is very flexible.
a word of caution use fuel clamps or stainless steel wire to secure the tubing.

Which are you using, bubbless or standard,I always slide a double piece of tubing to secure,I like the Synergy brand clear tubing but in this case it may be to stiff.

I use a OS bubble less inside my header tank with Hayes fuel line.
inside the main is just the stock pick up from align with Hayes fuel line.
However I rigged mine up for more flight time.

an air trap filter works very well for running on a main only.

+1 Hayes fuel line
+1 OS Bubbless clunk
No header tank
I did have the fuel magnet, never really had an issue with it, changed it because my mentor never had a problem with the OS, plus thats what i run in my 700 heli.
Also, i change the clunk line every spring and I dont really have a problem.

I use a Lynx MOAS on my N5C and N7 and it will suck the tank dry. They kind of float when they're brand new but mine went to the bottom of the tank after sitting in a full tank of fuel for a short time.

Does that work like the fuel magnet, does it need to follow the fuel,I read posts saying it leaves fuel behind.

I thought about adding a thick (small) washer to the Lynx MOAS filter (I still might try it as I bought 2 packs of replacement filters) and see if that would work.

I had over 10 flights on the Lynx MOAS filter and it didn't suck all the fuel or sink to the bottom in the fuel...hence trying adding some weight to it.

There are, however, many others that have great success.

It's similar to the fuel magnet but the material is a type of felt, not sponge, and it doesn't break down like the fuel magnet can.

I haven't added any weight to mine. I just use the standard clunk line tubing that comes with the N5C and N7 kits. Not everyone has had the same experience with them that I have, but they've worked great on my setups.

I too run the M.O.A.S. clunk in my Nitros and it too will suck the tank dry and the tune stays the same all the way through the tank. Best clunks I have ever used.
