If you don't mind the cost, the sk-rotorkopf head for the 145 is a nice piece of workmanship. It starts at 699E and goes up with the finish type. The second is their standard head of which the 5 blade version was on my TOW Defender. It is a bit more economical at 449E. Century heads are bullet proof and will give you great flying results. You can order them from out in British Columbia if they are not in stock in California. Hope this gives you something to go by. Merry Christmas.

Here is one I found by accident. Made in the US from Audacity and priced at 249.00. This might be an option, Mike. Take care.

I 2nd the Audacity head I have one on my raptor 50 scale bell 412, and that head is awesome the links can be set straight up and down but the quad washout base let it be 90*from The grip so phazing is super easy, and it flys really sweet. I have over 800 flights on My head since 2011 as a scale nitro to now a Electric conversion that Heli is my favorite one to fly. Even At Dalton it flew so well that it got in Heli pilot Mag, the only thing I didn't like that it has large plastic blade grips and I upgraded to polished metal blade grips to have a more scale look.

Ed, I agree, the head looks much neater with the metal grips than the plastics but I think painted looks even nicer.
Mike, my two cents experience is with the century heads. I have used then extensively on many of my machines and with heavy glass blades they fly very stable and solid and you may even find that a stab system isn't necessary. the prices aren't bad ad if they still have any in stock after these sales they have been having I would say go for one of those.

So.. I just was not sure.

Thanks for the tip on the used Century head. I told the seller I would take it but had a few questions.. just because I was not sure..

Was the head ever tipped over?.. seems a reasonable question cus it would save me form indexing the spindles.
And
Are those century blade grips?.. they were painted and I just wanted to be sure.. I could not tell for sure.

(Looks like Century has 3 blade grip styles).. I was under the impression they had two..

Now.. I see no response from the seller and he pulled the add without any explanation.
I JUST DID NOT KNOW….
Did we have a miss communication OR?

Thanks

Mike,

I just sent you a pm. My apologies as there is another member here with a very similar username who sent me numerous pm's regarding the head. I mistook the name for yours. Regardless, the head was sold yesterday to the guy who bought my 407. Again, sorry for the confusion. It was not intentional.

Audacity...

Funny, I sent a pm to John, just last week to say hi, and when he responded, he sent a link for the multi head... it is a nice looking piece, and the price is good.. I would have no problems giving one a try..

OK.. I got the package and the head is nice..

There are a few questions I have to get answered and a few minor issues with the head but soon as I get with John I will update.

So you know.. the blade grips are a tick hard to look past as they are VERY large. I do however feel I got my moneys worth on this product.

Well.. I don’t know why it needs to be this way but...
I did get ahold of Audacity and spoke with John.

My head (and remember I said I felt I got good value) had two incorrect spindle bolts in the kit. He at first took offence to this but later loosen his grip.. This DID set the tone for the conversation however.

I JUST wanted to make sure other customers were not getting incorrect parts… THAT’S ALL!

I had an issue with the center quad nut. I explained the issue in hopes others would not run into this. Again he was telling me what I was experiencing even thou nobody had ever reported issues with this. (NOTE: this almost cost me the head, it was a close call!)

This head comes with 131 parts and NO instruction manual. YES.. There is some instruction on their website but it’s not compressive and is missing allot of information. I had FULL intentions of offering to write a manual he could include with head.. but.. he was not listening.. he was talking……..
Now…I just don’t think its worth my time..

Here is the bottom line.. He IS sending me (Thank you for that John) the proper spindle bolts so all in all they have done their due diligence in fulfilling the customer’s needs.
Making me feel like an idiot was not good business and that’s too bad. I can tell this head is a nice value and truth is maybe I will buy another.. I just have to let this one “sit” for a while and digest.

Lastly.. if he was having a bad day he should not have called at that time.. Some times like “keyboarding” it pays to take a step back and re-think before you call/type..(I am guilty of this too)
Now.. as soon as the parts get here lets get this on the machine and take a look.. it’s a neat little product!
