The next generation of 750 firmware is under active and productive development. The software engineering required for the product you referenced is less complex than that required for a helicopter. Everyone has been patiently waiting I know. I can promise that which is coming will be worth the wait. And no, I don't have a release date, but it'll be here sooner THAN (not "or" ) later. Please just hang in there.

I'm sure futaba is working on something heli related but quads and planes are taken over. helis are just falling back in popularity. BTW I have loved my beast x units so much ill never use anything else. they are too simple. havnt ever seen a futaba fbl in person. I do have this GYA460 and its a poor clone of a china model. it has now been benched as it will not let me use dual rates and the self level wants to put me in the ground. haha

cgy-750 is a only 3 axis sensor, so just a firmware update will no give you rescue. You need a 6 axis sensor, unless they create an add on (like what vBar did for version 5 hardware). But one thing Futaba should think about is creating the new FBL unit that can be used for both, heli and multi rotors with an optional GPS port. This is how the new Vbar Neo is designed, Kinda nice that same hardware can do airplane, heli and multi rotors.

I've seen some New futaba stuff lately that had not been up to their usual standards. Either they are just throwing new stuff out while the big items are in the works, or they have stepped back some. I just got the 18sz too and it's great, but its going to need major firmware updates to bring it to a standard that futaba is know for

Thanks for the info Dr. Ben - look forward to seeing the new firmware though I've had good service from 1.31 and 1.4. The installations I've worked on are pretty simple though, I haven't tried these on Nitro yet. I do have a Whiplash gasser I'm going to setup for a friend with a CGY-750
