Hi all:

I have on hand both the Tarot S2 and a spektrum DSMX satellite. According Tarot instruction it can be attachet with a ADAPTION CABLE ( that I dont have ).-

Question: does anybody knows if this something specific cable with a resistor, diode or something else or just a cable with different plugs on both ends ???

Any clue ? Can I solder directly red to red, black to black and grey to white a standard plug on the satellite, to use it with the Tarot unit ???

Asking before the smoke comes out...
Thanks
Jalex

the adaption cable has exactly what you describe with a diode and resistor to the effect of voltage protection (if I'm not somehow mistaken) the info and description should be pretty obvious in the pc programmer. You can find the adapters on ebay. The s2 is a pretty good unit and improvement over the s, now all they need is to program a self level and another sat port and it would be one of the least expensive highly capable easy to program gyros out.

I have the s2/sat combination with adaption cable and it works fine, in fact I forgot to order another cable or two for spares and/or another heli.

Hi ICANFLY ! Tks for your fast answer.

Do you or somebody else know what type , value and circuit to complete this cable ?

Here ( I live in Argentina ) and we are limited to only 2, two buys from outside the country per year !!!. Yes, I already did them on january, so... nothing till next here ! Can you beleive this ?????

Well, If some additional info on how to connect the satellite is available, it is welcome !
Thanks

I believe it is nothing more than a cable that allows one end to be the standard large 3-pin receiver type plug to the small three-pin satellite connector. There should be nothing else in the cable.

There is a 3.3 volt LDO in there.

Why would there be 3.3v regulator, that's 0.2 volts lower than the minimum operating voltage of the satellite RX.

Sat runs on the output of the 3.3 volt reg in the main receiver. There is no internal reg.

The 3.5 volt number is for a complete Spekky receiver and allows .2 for drop through the LDO internally so providing 3.3 to all the chips including those in the sat.

nuther thing I discovered after getting my zyx s2 and Spektrum dsm2 sat working (it was a problem to get the dsmx working due to my dsm2 DX7 tx) was going to the programmer and setting the rx type before hooking up the gyro to the pc/laptop 'cetera.

Also when plugging the heli in to fly, after everything is working and operable, turn your tx on and orient the heli sat antenna parallel to the tx antenna (if possible) then plug the lipo in on the heli as it'll connect the sat before the zyx s2 lights start blinking, otherwise the gyro light will turn to yellow indicating failure to receive the tx signal.
