Thanks Mang,

The TGB is a pretty nice piece.

After Dalton, I have been more inspired than normal. Plug is in real nice shape. Will begin panel lines pretty soon then more sanding, then "wax on wax off." X many.

Almost nailed it.

Plug looks real good and the photos are awesome. Especially like the one where it's coming right at you in flight. You gonna have functional control surfaces on the wings? How were they used on the full scale?

Thanks Andrew,

Its been a lot of work but getting close. Will be putting the last coats of primer on this week hopefully.

I plan to put the speed brakes on the wings.

This machine was built a little before the "guided" style ordnance was widely used. The heli would fly in NOE and once close to the target pop up, nose the helicopter over, deploy the speed brakes, point the nose of the heli to the target and blast it. The speed brakes would allow a few more seconds on the target.

UIH,

If I can cram all the controls in the little stubby wings and it works, it may look pretty cool.

The first couple high build primer layers are down. I have started laying out and cutting in the panel lines. Once the lines and some other minor detail is done, a finish coat, a clean up of the lines, then make parting boards and waxing.

UIH,

I have finished the panel lines on the 67 fuse. This added dimension to the look of the master and a glance of things to come.

Next will be to lay out the window frames before the last few coats of primer.

Thanks Mang,

Had planned to get another coat of primer on today but work called. That's like 2 days this week already.

I will have to call someone about this.

UIH,

Got the windscreens frames laid out and threw down some high build primer to build that section up on the master. They came out pretty good.

Slow and steady.

Thanks Sean,

The weather has not been the best to get the final coats of primer done. This week should be nicer to get this finished up then on to the next steps.

I have gone over the power train install about a million times in my pea brain over this build. The TGB will need a little longer shaft and a new slider for clearance for the tail pitch beam and keep the control assembly all under the cowling.

Looks like about 10mm longer should do the trick.

A few pics.

And why not, retractable gear on a heli seemed like a crazy overkill at first but now?
I say soon thrust reversers should be implemented

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

UIH,

The master is done.

I was not interrupted by work all last week therefore was able to get the plug all wet sanded to 600. I plan to start sizing up and fitting the parting boards today.
