Hello

I will start to say that this is my first rc helicopter, and I am knew to this. I did however study allot before i purchased the Align 500L dominator super combo kit. I also bought a Spektrum Dx6 witch came with an AR610 6channel receiver.

I am having problems when i try to program the Gpro on my computer. The Gpro gets power from the esc, and the receiver gets power from the Gpro, using the cable included in the box. It is going from bat out port on the Gpro, and to the bind/dat port on the receiver. I do belive i get the receiver and transmitter to bind, and I get first the green flashing light on the Gpro, and after i turn power on and off the orange light on the receiver turns solid, and a sloid red on the Gpro.

When I go to the screen on the computer I experience that when I move the sticks on my transmitter, nothing happens on the screen. There is a little red flashing light under all the sliders on the screen. I have tried for days figuiring this out, but to no luck.

Is there anybody out there that can help me with this? Is there something in the transmitter I havent programmed correct?

Appriciate any help I can get

I'm not familiar with the gpro but I did take a look at the instructions.

If your esc has a built in bec, I don't think you need to connect batt out to the bind/batt port on the 6100. Maybe because of that wire the receiver is in bind mode?

Lastly, I hate to say it but the ar6100 is too small for a 500 imo. I think you'll want the antenna diversity of the ar6200. You may want to ask around. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Please do all troubleshooting with the main and tail blades off or motor disconnected.

If you wait a bit there are a few people here who the gpro real well. They will probably have a more solid answer.

In the first screen, did you tell the GPro you're using a CONVENTIONAL installation?

Bind the RX to the TX before connecting the GPro, there is no need to wail till after you get everything hooked up to bind the RX.

The AR610 is a full-range receiver, I see no issue using it. Spektrum says it is good for up to .90 powered planes. Pay close attention to antenna placement, however.

Your ESC will go to the THR port on the GPro. Power from the GPro to the AR610 will go from the lower-right connector of the connector block of the GPro to your AR610 batt/bind port (left-most pin is Ground at the GPro-end). Use a two-wire connector (remove the orange or white wire), you really only need the power and ground wire between the GPro and the RX itself. Power to the RX comes through this cable. No other connectors bridge the power between the RX and the GPro, so make sure you use this one.

The servo output channels from your RX connect to the GPro using the two, three-wire cables which have one three-wire connector on one end (GPro end) and three single-wire connectors at the other end plug into the RX servo slots. Remember to connect the Gyro gain lead wire from the GPro to channel 5 of your RX, and then set the transmitter so that your Gyro control is enabled -- it will use channel 5.

If the GPro status light is RED, you are operating in tail rotor gyro Normal/rate mode. You should be able to fix that using the gyro setting values in the TX gyro menu. Green means Heading Hold mode operation.

Wow, I really appriciate all the help guys! Dave, thank you very much for taking the time to explain everything this thoroughly to me. I will try this tonight.

I honestly had the Gpro set to dsmx. I was confused right here. The pictures in the manual indicated to me that the ar610 should be set to the conventional receiver in the Gpro software. But since the dsmx popped up everywere in the spektrum manuals, I god confused.

I will also modify the cable as you sugest.

Again, thanks guys!

The DSMX/DSM2 settings are for setups that use Spektrum satellites directly plugged into the GPro for use as its receivers. If you're using an external satellite such as the AR610, IT handles the receiving problem, and IT is where the DSM2/x processing happens.
