I used to race slot cars until I joined the Army. my favorite were the 1/24 scale cars. I built one using a 1/24 plastic body of Dale Earnhart's 87 yellow Monte Carlo.
that's a cool track you built, a lot of work I am sure.

the scale Nieman Marcus track was sweet but the cost??? whew!

thanks for sharing!

A nice track as a curio, but certainly not a "race" track.

My wife and I own 5 commercial slot car tracks. Three are set up on our property and we host races for various clubs. Two tracks are in storage awaiting a slightly larger space to get them all set up.

One track in storage was used on the 1992 HOPRA National Championship Race that was held in Agawam Massachusetts. This track was the second HO track built in the U.S. with continuous power rails versus the sectional rail typical of HO track.

Another track of note is a BuckTrax, one of the first ones built by Dale Buck. The track is CNC routed and also features continuous rail. This track, in the Banzai configuration, is fast and smooth. HOPRA Super Stock class cars typically lap this track in 2.2 seconds.

We have two Slider (tm) oval tracks built by Ed Bianchi of HORacePro. These are routed, banked oval tracks using non-magnetic braid as the power conductors. The larger of the two ovals is regularly raced upon by a club that promotes NASCAR style racing. The smaller oval is currently in storage. Lane spacing on Slider (tm) tracks is such that you can race four HO cars, four 1/43 scale cars, or two 1/32 scale cars. They would also probably work for two 1/24 scale cars, but we haven't tried that one yet.

We also have a large, permanent 1/32 scale track constructed from Riggen/Revell sectional track. This track will be replaced by a routed track in the relatively near future.

Dingo, that is one sweet 1/24th scale car.

Slot cars...

Thanks Heli143! That's my favorite racecar of all time - Sauber C291 to be precise, not the C9 but they're nearly identical except for the nose

Here's 2 of my favorite slots - 1/32 scale

this one below is actually a body set for a Kyosho Mini-Z RC car
