Hiya .. I have just recently converted my 14mz to 2s 2600 Gensace lipo .. I soldered a futaba female plug onto the Pos and neg pins that are in the battery bay , I needed to strip the lipos wrapping but it fit after I removed the plastic tab on the back of the battery cover .
The packs measures 100x31x15 and fits just snug .. I may need to remove a little more battery case to make it exactly fit but is no problem I guess ..
I was wondering however can this Tx be ran using a 3s 11.1v lipo ..
I know a fully charged lipo sits at 12 v ..
What would the effects be on this increase ..
Why do most futaba tx run on 9v and I have been using a 3s 2200 on my futaba 10cp I own and this 14mz runs at 7.2v and it so power hungry !!

Cheers

the 14mz is power hungry i believe because of the colored screen. the screen especially when lit takes up most of the power. i have 1300mah rx lipo on mine and i only charge them up to 4.1v per cell when i use it so voltage will be identical to the li-ion stock battery. 3s would be too much and will most probably fry something in the board inside

If you are insistent on running a 3S battery, I'd be certain to run a voltage regulator. They are small and cheep. I usually keep a dozen of these laying around for random projects.

2s is enough...!

3s LIPO with regulator is like driving with a foot on the brake paddle...

Try with 2S with more capacity...
More than the 2200 mah... So you will need more room...

If you insist on 3s... Try life batteries... 9.9 volts...
Fully charge is 10.8 volts... Die hard... Safer... and the regulator.

Saludos cordiales,
