Sorry kogi,

But with every question you are proving to me how little you know about the engines.

It is ok to learn but you come on here like you know everything and start putting down other peoples stuff.

My point from the beginning!!! Sounds to me like,, He has no clue on how to tune a gas engine (not motor) and got pissed off, and now he is trying to blame the builder, by saying lies about what is or isn't done to the engine, when he has NO CLUE what he is talking about.. XGM/VGM

Sorry OCR231,

Please would you care to elaborate how many stock cranks you have found out of round?

And you mentioned something about balancing?

For an engine builder who doesn't run his engines? Or fly? Balancing is obviously out of the question, oh maybe its balanced static. I did see some drill holes in the PUH flywheel, maybe thats whats considered balancing \

And OCR231 is Al right?

The cranks are pressed together. It is not uncommon to have runout of .003" or more from the factory when measuring with an indicator comparing the clutch shaft end to the flywheel shaft end. Some are better than that, but the only way to know is to split the cases and pull the crank out for proper measurement. Runout after truing is typically .0005" or better.

This is a very common procedure on high performance two stroke cranks.

A crash can kick the crank out of true. I just trued one up for a friend that was out .016"! I congratulated him on a nice crash.
