Just setting up a 3sx on a forza 700, the software looks pretty straight forward, I have generally setup the, sbus, servos, movements etc.

Is there anything I need to look out for? My other heli's use cgy750 which I'm very used to, I went with the 3sx because of the size of the unit.

Also I have the unit setup up right way up but backwards as the sockets are at the rear of the helicopter? Does the unit always output the throttle I couldn't see a switch to turn this on, but I'm sure the manual said that this was user configurable in software.

The software will ask you for the SX Controller orientation and position of socket. Than adjust the settings on the mixer tab to get everything going in the correct direction.

The Throttle Socket would be (in your case / position on heli)
- the side with 4 sets of socket
- not set of socket in front of LED
- it's on the same side as where you plug the data port
- third in from end

It will always output a throttle signal and make sure to set the fail safe, it will not automatically shut off the power to ESC on fail safe mode on when you bind it.

I have a HC3-SX on my Forza 700 with CY 710's on 14S and its a MONSTER. Don't let anyone says its any less than a spectacular FBL capable or any 3D maneuver and can handle high speed.

Handled my Forza with 150 mph+ passes at 2350 HS!!!!

Thanks Scott

Pretty sure I have the correct orientation set in the software. Upright/backwards.

I'm happy with the 3sx just more used to cgy, thought I should ask some questions just to check.

Good so so I can plug the master in to the throttle out on the 3sx throttle port and the slave into servo 4 socket from the kosmik.

Great build on the forza, probably one of the best machines I have have put together. Looks like a bit of a weapon.

I would recommend plugging the slave next to the master so it would have a secure connection. Two leads next to each is better than a single lead by itself. I have an extra lead by itself and plug in all the unused ports and run a 3M tape accross all the plugs to keep it secured

mookie,

I also plug both master and slave into the RX or master in the RX and slave into any of the open ports of the 3SX

Let me know if you have any software related questions. If you are using fast high voltage servos the 3D defaults in the RIGID menu should be pretty close to what you need.

Hi Santiago.

Ok just to go back through, my setup is Sbus so there is only one lead going to the Rx but I could plug the slave in to the bat input of the Rx and y lead it to servo input 4 of the 3Sx. The master into the 3Sx throttle out.
Also I'm using BLS452 @ 6.0v on cyclic so not an HV setup.

It's working out pretty well so far.

Are we both talking about the master and slave coming out of the Kosmik?
Leave the master where is at if it working properly. The slave from the kosmik can go on any empty slots.

You should be ok on servo speed.

Hi Santiago,

I have been working with an external Lipo pack and regulator just to statically setup the 3sx.

I am going to setup the Kontronik this weekend.
The master plugs into throttle out of the 3sx. Slave connection, i made a Y lead which plugs into the battery connection of the RX and servo 4/battery connection of the 3sx, this will give full 10 amps on the rail of 3sx.

malc,

I checked the servo specs:

Futaba BLS452 - Brushless EP Car Hi-Torque Servo

Modulation: Digital
Torque: 4.8V: 156.0 oz-in (11.23 kg-cm)
6.0V: 194.0 oz-in (13.97 kg-cm)

Speed: 4.8V: 0.18 sec/60°
6.0V: 0.14 sec/60°

Even at 6v they are not fast. The P-portion and D-Portion will need to be adjusted to yield the proper response.
One of my setups has similar servo speeds, the RIGID page parameters should be similar to yours.

Will post them later today.

Thanks for that Santiago, i like the 452's they are a good servo and value for specs you can't beat them. Used them with the cgy with no issues but I'll add your P,D's when you post them.
