jeez, take a pill. you make a strong case for no more investment and innovation in the hobby... or even for finding better use of ones time than posting to RR... some people are taking bold steps in spite of doom and gloom. maybe not so helpful for you to pee in their pool.

oops, bounced it!

the best investment in this hobby right now is quad rotor racing... make a good two camera and goggle system to match to make quad racing even better as you will now have depth perception.

seen this? this is what our hobby is transitioning to its exciting and has alot more thrills.

What's up with the 4 servo swash?
Do FBL's units support this?

Ok, I'll rephrase the question.
Does anyone have an intelligent answer as to if all FBL's controllers support 4 servo swash?

There Happy now? or still a little grumpy? I didn't crash today, did you? Hope you feel better. Anger sucks.

The discussion was regarding the Velos 880. Im not bashing inovation, I just don't see a demand for this type of heli out there. Seems to be alot of over kill

All Cool, I was trying to discuss, but, ???
I've been waiting for these to see what happens next and the post title (?) led me to think this would be a positive discussion.
Post after post how "it's no good", "who need it"
This is why some hesitate to post.
Like Roseanne Roseannadanna says, "never mind"

Just remember you all are speaking for yourself not me or thousands of other people ! I love the 880 would love to see one fly and see the potential it may have for industrial use even ! My mind is open .
The blade situation does worry me a bit ! I wonder how much it could lift
In some setups ?

well in that case... regarding the purpose of using two motors, two ESCs and basically 4 6S lipos...

Are there any vids of the 880 actually using all that power? the vids I have seen basically show standard 800 class headspeeds under 1900...

its obviously not an industrial use heli cause power wise your not gonna be in the air for more than 12 minutes carrying the typical load with that setup... other "industrial" models can do it better and are better suited. You dont use a top fuel dragster to deliver pizzas...

So where are the serious performance proving videos of insane 3D or serious fast forward flights, whats the point?.., cause with two motors the idea of redundancy does not fit its showy style...

now as for the 4 servo swash (H4 90):

CGY750 yes,
MICROBEST yes
GT-5 yes
BavarianDemon 3x/3sx yes
Mikado V-Bar YES

if the 3 axis FBL system does not support an H4 90 swash... they are way way behind the power curve.

FBLs supporting 4 servo setup
The 4 servo setup is very common with scale helis.
Skookum supports 4 servo swash plate also.

Velos 880
http://www.velos-rotors.com/velos-880

In testing, they first used the Skookum SK-720BE. The test pilot wasn't happy with it.
They changed to the VBar Control system and finished the design validation testing with that.
So, these are two more that support the 4 servo swash.

There is no "reason" to by a Velos 880.
Just like there is no "reason" to by a Goblin 770, Trex 800 or any other "big heli" if you are a hardcore 3D pilot.

Except, it is freaking awesome to throw around a huge monster like a rag-doll in the teeth of a pitbull.

Not sure where the comment:
Are there any vids of the 880 actually using all that power? the vids I have seen basically show standard 800 class headspeeds under 1900
comes from.
I watched a few flights at 2000 & 2100.

I would have to suggest that the laws of physics start to play into this line of thought.

To make a 880mm heli that weighs in about 40% greater than a 800 size heli look like a 800 size in hard 3D flight takes a lot more power.
To make it look like a 700 size heli doing hardcore 3D takes a LOT more power.

So, if someone says "Well, that video makes it look just like a 700 size heli doing 3D", then I would say "well, you may not understand just how huge that achievement really is".

Believe 1/2 of what you see and none of what you hear.
Fake News will be the downfall of our Republic!
