Has anybody had both of these kits that can compare. I have a century jet ranger and want to get one of these kits to stick in it. Need help deciding which is the better helicopter.!!!! Hawk Sport or Shuttle Plus.

I picked these 2 because they both fit well for 30 size scale projects.

Thanks

Yes..

Chris had both.
The Sport will fit into the fuse just fine and so will the Plus.
I am better suited to Hirobo stuff and enjoy working on them more than Century products.
I also liked the fact that with VERY little work I was able to put the tail rotor on the correct side of the fuselage.
I also think the Shuttle has a better frame for scale applications. I found it to be a bit more solid and still weigh about the same. Either ship you can chop the radio tray off and do a cockpit for easily.
The 206 that is in my Gallery is built from a Shuttle Plus. Just sold it yesterday to a local flyer that is going to finish her up.
I don't think you would go wrong with either for your project. Stick with what you have parts/knowledge for and you will do fine.

I have used both and prefer the Shuttle. The only draw back to the Shuttle is the belt driven tail, this means you have to disassemble the tail to take the body off. With the Hawk you just loosen a couple of screws and unplug the tail. I think overall the Shuttle is a nice compact machine that fits almost anyhting with very little work. I is also extremely dependable (not to say the Hawk isnt) and parts are readily avaliable.

Hi Chris,
I am currently building the LongRanger with the
century hawk 111 mech.
And as i am moving along i really see no problem
with this mech setup.
I have had both the sport and the shuttle
and really it is a tossup.
First thing is its not about which one will fly better,
simple reason they both fly good for your application.
Neither one is a strong contender for 3-D and if thats at all in the
back of your mind then these choices are the wrong one!
But for scale flying they are going to serve you well.
Make your choice based upon what is availible in your area
not which one is better.
Once again they both will do the job fine.

Shuttle Plus

My vote goes to the Shuttle Plus.... In my last finished scale project it went into the Century Bell 222 very easily. It is an excellent application for the Shuttle Plus mechanics. For me the belt drive was not an issue at all. I agree with Jason, in that I simply like working with the Hirobo mechanics better.

If you are to weigh all the factors and they tie, you then have to vote for customer service... In that category, Century is no match for Hirobo and Jeff Green... I'm a customer of both companies....

Cheers,
Grover
