Give Hanson a call
Will probably need some good work, I know he's worked on these in the past.

have you contacted TRM or Hanson? I think they will check it for you... not sure if they will do it for free though

All right Brian, about time! That engine took away any desire from me to ever touch a gasser again.

The engine still looks brand new an is barely broken in. Seem to all of us it had a leak or something that would make it run rough as hell after 3 or 4 minutes. Once warm, the engine would cause numerous problems, too many to discuss.

Perhaps, I can be persuaded once in comes back and is running the way it should

Don't base your gasser experience on Chinese engines, you have seen me year after year at IRCHA, thousands of flights no trouble awesome flying machines.

FWIW, I have a Hanson G270RC motor in my Spectra-g, its been in there since April of 2012, 3 years now. Hanson has never seen it, touched it, or anything. I haven't pulled it out of the heli either. Been in there since I put it in. Checking my records, in April of 2012 I had 1700 flights on my Spectra-g. Look at the count below now, just about 1100 flights on this engine now, no service, no maintenance, just gas and go for the last 3 years. With flights lasting an average of 18 minutes, that's 330 hours of service from one engine, and counting.

Try that with a nitro motor, what do you get there, 200 flights before you need bearings, and maybe even a ring?

its a real Zenoah, just modded by HWC to try to mimic what TRM/Hanson did...

But Hanson and TRM do additional crank, piston and balance work. My money would go to TRM or Hanson before HWC.

Is the HWC line of engines still in business? And you can't get service for the thing even when they were in business?

Used to
When Century used to have Hanson modify motors for them, they didn't want him to true the crank so they can save $25. They were not "true" hanson modified motors so to speak, the ones they resold that they got from him. After a while I guess they started making their own, but apparently from the feedback I've heard (no personal experience here), people are not as happy with them as a Hanson or TRM motor.
