So I'm new to the fbls gyros. I have a 72.mhz system . Is it possible for me to us my r770s jr reciever? Or is the gpro essentially a reciever/gyro that just needs the satellite antennae plug into it? So if I'm understanding all this correctly I need to up grade to 2.4ghz in order to use the gpro?

You can connect your receiver to almost ALL FBL controllers on the market, as most include cable sets to allow you to connect your receiver outputs to the FBL controller's inputs.

The GPro will allow you to do so, it comes with the cables you need.

The picture below

shows a typical external receiver connection. The colored wires are part of the cable set included in the box.

What do you wish to do?

Use an external 72 MHz receiver with your GPro?

And what transmitter are you going to use?

With that info, I can help you.

Look at the picture I posted above. You GPro came with three cables.

One has a three-wire connector on one end, with three single wire connectors on the other end. The wires are red, orange, and yellow.

One has a three-wire connector on one end, with three single wire connectors on the other end. The wires are green, blue, and purple.

One is a simple three wire extender, with red, white, and black wires.

-----

Take the first cable -- the one with the red, orange, and yellow wires.

Plug the end with three wires into the right-most vertical connector of the GPro block. Red on top, yellow on bottom.

The Red wire goes to your R770s "AILE" plug. The single wire is on TOP.

The Orange wire goes to your R770s "ELEV" plug. Single wire on TOP.

The Yellow wire goes to your R770s "AUX 1" plug. Single wire on TOP.

-----

Take the second cable, the one with the green, blue, and purple wires.

Plug the end with all three wires into the second vertical connector from the right hand side of the GPro block. Green is on top, purple on bottom.

The Green wire goes to your R770s "RUDD" plug. Single wire on TOP.

The Blue wire goes to your R770s "AUX2" plug. Single wire on TOP.

The Purple wire goes to your R770s "THRO" plug. Single wire on TOP.

This will put rudder gain on channel 7 (Aux 2), usually the default channel used by JR transmitters for gyro control when you enable the Gyro Sense menu.

-----

The three-wire cable, red, black, white, connects to the LOWER RIGHT HORIZONTAL connector block on the GPro. Black wire to the LEFT. The other end of this cable plugs into your R770s "GEAR" plug. White wire on top. This cable supplies the RX with power from your power source (through the GPro power bus), and if you are running a Nitro heli, also allows you to control the built-in Governor using Channel 5, the usual channel used by JR radios with a Governor function/menu.

-----

Your ESC three wire cable will plug into the GPro left-most vertical connector (THRO). Black or Brown wire closest to the bottom.

Your Rudder servo plugs into the second GPro socket from the left end (RUDD). Black or Brown wire closest to the bottom.

The servo driving the left-front ball of the swashplate plugs into GPro socket "CH2". Black or Brown wire closest to the bottom.

The servo driving the right-front ball of the swashplate plugs into GPro socket "CH3". Black or Brown wire closest to the bottom.

The servo driving the rear ball of the swashplate plugs into GPro socket "CH1". Black or Brown wire closest to the bottom.

With all that set up, it's time to fire up the PC software and complete setting up your GPro, TX, and helicopter.

This post:

should walk you through the rest of the setup.

If you get this far, and need help with the Parameter Menu, just holler. I'll be here.

-----

Make certain the three-wire cable between the ESC and the GPro has the small ferrite donut installed. This will be absolutely required with a 72 MHz system. It's actually required for any system, but even more-so with a 72 MHz RX.

Thanks . I'm sending the heli back. To much wrong with it. All kinds of stripped out button head bolts and missing stuff. Not cost affective. I'll just by a new one. Oh well sellers loss. Should've given a honest discretion. Then I would've been ok with it .
