It is not a vintage, yet for the most part they are out of business. I am looking for some parts. Main shaft, feathering shaft, fly bar, tail shaft. I think that the tail boom should be about the same as any other 450. I went to the LHS and the Align parts were close put were not close enough.

Thanks.

I bought one of these used at an auction. I used Tarot parts (Align clone). Main shaft, boom, tail shaft, all the parts fit. What did not fit from Align?

When I looked at the feathering shaft, it was different. The Trex was longer and had a shoulder for the bearings. The Trex Fly Bar was shorter and the Trex main shaft was longer and the bolt holes did not line up.

I converted it to FBL and did not use the stock head. I did find a mainshaft that fit though. There are different lengths of mainshafts depending on the model. You may just end up replacing the whole head.

What FBL head di you use?

I was thinking of getting a HK FBL head for it but dont want to order parts from china every crash.

I also thought about just ordering a complete new head. Then I woudl at least know what parts fit it.

I got the RJX head from hobby king. I see they don't carry it anymore but have their own.

http://www.hobby king.com/hobby king/store/__12941__High_Quality_FBL_Flybarless_Head_for_T_Rex_and_HK450_heli_.html

$11.95. I paid $30 for the RJX.

Beware, I had issues getting the correct swash travel for a Microbeast FBL controller. The way the Diablo servos are configured I had to mount the 2 roll servos using the 2 inner screw holes (not the center, these servos had 3 mounting holes), and bend the pushrod on the elevator servo. I used the inner most hole on the servo horn as I would get way too much swash travel if I did not do this. I also had to dremel the servo horns and the frame a little to get everything to work (blue lights on the Microbeast). This is my first and only FBL heli. I do not know if all FBL controllers will have this problem. If I had known this from the start I would not have converted to FBL.

I received a reply from Scott at RC-Tek. I am getting some of the parts I need plus some extras. They are just about out of anything to do with this helicopter. I am getting flybars, feathering shafts, main shafts and a couple booms. I should be good for a few crashes. After that I may just buy a full head for it. A standard FB head and see what happens.

Thanks.
