yep, finished putting together a rewound bl motor which originally was not working, and wound it to get a final rev of about 2200rpm on 3s. I test ran it with 6s and it was fine, a little warm but 22.2v, holee.
That's the finished product of rewinding and removing some material from the heavy original bell, made of steel, on a Unimat mini lathe, and..............and,,,,,,,,,,the thing weighs only 49grams.
The following Align 430L was the fist try at getting a low kv 6s capable motor for the 300 but this thing is a plank motor and I ended up matching the original kva due to reducing the winds by half,
Only way I can get 6s lipos is to gang a pair of 850's in series, lipos for a Big Lama coax and that sort of thing, no one makes a 850mah 6s, hehe. top rpm going up to 5000, and it already does 100mph at 4000 rpm.
Due for crazy thrust and speed, I found the little black motor hard to even slow down by braking it with my fingers whilst reving on 22.2v, OHH OHH!
Ooh, whacha learn on small things you graft to larger, cash permitting, lol.
Update next day (this morning), took the 300 out back after a little repair last night, 3500kva on 4s is mad rotor speed at 100% assuming 10 to 1 gears the rotor would be speeding at ? rpm on 4s 16v as is, time for some math. 3500x16/10= 5600, motor efficiency at 80% and full throttle at 80% came to 3500 but it's more like 4000 and a little. I remember when my Cyclone 5370kva 2s but ran on 3s 11.1 motor was installed last year the rotor was always about 4000 or more on the fresh part of a battery dropping off gradually as the lipo was spent.
What sets my 300 apart from yours and anything else? I'm using an Align tail shaft with oem pulley having more teeth on the gear than stock Blade (aluminum too) and a 3mm spindle on the feathering shaft with nylock nuts. I am setting forth to make some revolutionary blades which will be light and other good things to decrease drag on the drive system and have been testing some new ideas in this vein for over a year now with positive results.
