Just saw a short video on MSN regarding research that Stanford University is doing on a new chemistry for batteries. It is apparently AL-IO, aluminum ion.

Sounds like the charge/discharge cycle performance is great, but maybe not so good in the energy density area.

Maybe worth keeping an eye on, though.

Maybe we'll see some new chemistries in 10 years or so. By that time, one should hope that the Lipo chemistries are pretty advanced.

Look at how far they've progressed in the past 10 years!
