I have a Full size V-Bar on my 550. It has been about 5 years since I did anything with it. I have changed PCs a number of times as well so the software I used to set it up is long gone. How would I go about figuring out what firmware I have and what software to use?
I have a copy of V5.0 Express on my laptop but don't know whether it is valid or not. I admit a while back I bought one of the clones but have never done anything with it. This may be software from it.
I was wanting to do some vibration analysis via Bluetooth but this software doesn't show and Bluetooth connection icons on screen. Just need a little direction, maybe a lot!

Thanks, Matt

I am guessing if it is 5 years old it is V4.0 and I am guessing it is black also. If you can connect via BT and Android you will be able to read the FW version. VBar has changed their access about 2 years ago which makes it harder to access the Computer SW. Your best bet would be to contact MikadoUSA. They are the the best way to establish comms with your VBar.

It is a black FWIW but I am pretty sure soon after getting it I paid $46 I think to upgrade the firmware to Pro. Not positive but I do know I paid to upgrade it. I looked on one of my old laptops and found V5.1 software. I'll try to connect to it later today. I don't have a Droid but I do want to connect to my laptop via Bluetooth so I can monitor vibration in flight. This 550 has always had a high frequency vibration and I want to find and eliminate it.

Okay, I have 5.1.7 firmware/software on the PC and my VBar. They communicate via USB cable just fine. Now I want to figure out the Bluetooth connection.

Thanks, Matt

Got it! Not having a manual handy makes it tougher.
I found online that you have to use a command line switch to use either Bluetooth or USB. For whatever reason, Mikado/VBar didn't want it selectable within the program.

If you have 5.1.7 it may be useful to make contact with Mikado and get it updated to 5.3.4 as it will only cost you your time and not your money.

Maybe send an email to info (at) mikado-heli.de. As you purchased the pro upgrade they will have details of your purchase and should be able to get your account working again to carry out firmware updates.
