Getting ready to buy some lipo batteries for my Pic pro and need some advice.

I'm currently running The Stock 410 motor with the picco board plus. I'd like to buy batteries that I can run with this setup for just a little longer before I go with a brushless setup. But keeping in mind I'd like to use these new batteries when I do make the switch to brushless if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
If your looking to go BL you realy need the 3 cell pack. 1200mah or 1500mah as i think they may of dicountinued the 1200 packs are what most people are useing.

Im not sure what V the 400 motor will take, 11.3 v may be a little to high to si would not expect the 400 to last long on these cells.

GREAT advice gopeddadave

My hobby shop recommended the 3-cell Lipo packs so I bought one- Ran awesome... For 4 seconds

The Piccoboard caught fire, the heli went out of control at full throttle/collective, and the whole heli destroyed itself in the process of trying to burrow through my living room wall.

Oh yeah, there were permanent burn marks in the carpet from the red-hot glowing components that blew off of the HH modudule.

Got to love micros....

2 cell 7.4 volts?

I bought 2 cell 1500 ma lipos and just realized they are only 7.4 volts. Why did I want these? The NiMH batteries I was running are rated 10.8 volts and check out around 12.55. These worked well exept for duration. Now on the advice I got here I bought the 2 cell lipos and they are only 7.4 volts? What I'm really wondering is that the 3 cell lipos are only 11.1 volts and why wouldn't they have worked? Now I've got a heli that I have quit a bit of work to do to get it to fly properly because it is certainly not plug and play like I've read here.

3.7v/cell is the nominal voltage. At peak they run 4.2v. 3S pack is too much for stock motor and piccoboard. Just read the previous post by GreggyPoo!

3SP PACKS?

I've recently read on another site that people are running KoKam 3S2P 340mah packs through their picoboard and a stock motor with no problems! Is there anyone here who has this setup?

I'm a newbie, but...

I'm looking to purchase a Pro Picc, and have done all the reading I can.

I've found that the Piccoboard Pro has "Upgraded output FETs to IRF7456 and added a second BEC regulator soldered in parallel to the existing one. This upgrades the output current rating to 10A on main motor output and probably 1600 mA on the BEC output."
AND
"higher amperage rating to deal with larger motors such as the 410 Power House and others"

I'm wondering if the Pro can handle more than the plus...

any thoughts?
