I need to decide between a raptor 30 or the new jr venture cp 30. What does everyone think? I do want to put one of these helis in a scale fuse down the road also.

Having owned both, I would get the Raptor. The Raptor V2 has thrust bearings in the head, it's a $35.00 KSJ upgrade for the Venture. The Venture is already too heavy to be a 30 size machine, if you hang a scale fuselage on it, it's going to be way overweight. Raptor parts are also much cheaper and more readily available than for the Venture.

I fly a Venture 30 and I am running an OS 46 in it with SAB 550's it flys awesome has over 60 flights with not a single mechanical problem.
Everyone I fly with has Raptors be it 30 or 50 and I will have to say they spend more time on maintaince than I do I am not knocking the Raptor I have flown Raptors they are a very stable heli to fly probably more so than the Venture.
If you do go with the Venture I would run the Webra 35 in it or the West Eurotech 30 size motor in it for more power. The OS 32 is definatly under powered for this heli.

If you have any questions on the Venture feel free to PM me.

I have flown and worked on both. They are both ok.I think the Raptor would get the nod for being lighter and having cheaper parts costs.

Also, what transmitter are you considering. One of the less expensive radios, that come with lower grade servos, and just barely supports e-CCPM, would not be my choice for the Venture. The Venture should have a 9C Futaba or 8103 JR at least. The Raptor , or other m-CCPM helicopter, will do well with less, if the funds are short.

venture is a great machine, it does things differently to the raptor, but can be as good in the long term...

spares prices are slightly higher tho
