Just having a mess about with my heli engine and noticed that it has higher compression when the engine is rotated backwards(anticlockwise)
Now the engine runs great so I dont think theres a problem but was wondering if any techies out there could explain to me way this happens
From what i thought of 2 stroke engines they should be the same no matter which way they turn

Oh yeah it has been removed from the heli so its not the hex starter 1 way clutch thing.

Thx

The engine should have more compression when turned the correct way as it has both main (crankcase) and secondary (cylinder) compression...

Turned the wrong way the rotary valve is open on the down stroke so it loses primary compression...

I have a TT50 out of a model so will try it later...

might be a sub piston induction anomally.... although I have seen other engines that have more cylinder compression when turned backwards... hehe
