its ok dont feel stupid cause thats a very good question, i do not think that will work, i think its physically impossible for that to work/fit. And also i am not even sure that the frame could take that engine power. if i was you i would either sell the R50 and buy a raptor 60 for the motor, or sell the motor for a 50 sized motor, or buy a raptor 60 for the motor and also buy a 50 sized motor for your raptor 50!

"There is No Substitute for Cubic Inches".

As long as there are engines, Boys(Men) will try to get the most power out of them.

Light travels faster than sound, thats why some people appear so bright UNTIL you hear them speak.

if you do a search there was a guy who successfully put a 60 in his 50.I don't know what it would accomplish, the 50 has more than enogh balls for a stretched out 30.come on now don't try to fly the neighbors cat around the neighborhood

in the beginning there were 30's and there were 60's.

if it wasn't for people pushing bigger engines into the airframes there would still be 30's and 60's

Well, since the design and the gear ratio is set up to handel the 46 to 50 size machine. To answer you ??????? NO a 60 will not work unless you change the gear design, add a longer boom, and a bigger frame. But, Hey Im the the Dumb ASS who ask this Question. Hey better yet, put that 60 in you Rappy and see it Blow up for youre self. Give me a call and would love to see that. (*** joking***)
Just Take some time and do the Home work, The designers, desgined the 30, 50, 60-70, and the 80-90 for a reason. Putting in the wrong Eng in the wrong size Model could hurt someone.
Do things the right way, But Im the Dumb A$$

You are right

No question is a stupid one, the only stupid question is the one that is not asked.

Sorry if you took my reply, in the wrong way.

boy i think i might like you after all.....what a tactful way of saying im in the wrong here. "sorry if you took my reply the wrong way"

i took it the way you meant it, you thought my question was stupid and of course a stupid question deserves a stupid answer, right?

that was great though i REALLY liked that response, no kidding. I swear im gonna use that on my customers sometime when i get the chance they want even know what hit them, they will just smile walk out the dooor and then say wait a minute and by then its to late. Thanks

There was a post in the RR forum back around the beginning of the summer about someone doing it, but if I remember he had to do a lot bastardizing of the frames. But really, I don't think its worth the effort. You won't see any performance gains in the 50 size ship. As for buying a 60 size heli to stuff into, to get some comparable performance from a 60 compared to a 50 sized ship. You'd have to stuff a 90 into the 60. Whatever you decide to do, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

I lost my infamous tag line.

There was a guy a wile ago .. he put a 10cc engine in a raptor 30 V1 for dragracing.

I read about it here on RR.

A friend try this also, its works but only 4 minits flytime, lots of power he made the engine mount by himself.

But i dont suggest it to anywan.

Regards

Chris

I know I saw something on the very thing you want to do, however I think it was OS60 in a R50. I believe it was in the racing forum section of Run Ryder. I can't find it now...

emtguy your exactly right the only stupid question is the one not asked, and like you said you didnt know neither did i i prolly would have asked that same question too i am sorry you got ragged on by some of the guys here (actuallly only 1 guy) and since the 60 put in a 50 heli has been done then there is no stupidity in it to start with

cmon guys this forum is supposed to help people and help answer peoples questions i think some of us have forgotten that its not how much you know or want to make people think you know it all like me for example i have only been flying helis for 1 year now and i try to help people the best i can and with the most politeness i can.
wake up and smell the nitro its christmas we need to all be friends and help eachother the best we can with the best intentions

Cant let it go can ya?

we all understand the safety precautions the manufactors make and the way they have to cover their butts. But what kind of fun is there in not trying to improve on things to make them quicker, more responsive and just unique.

i bet you would hassle the guy who stuck a 46 into a 30 for the first time wouldnt ya.(kidding)

just let it go, let us talk what-if's and be happy.merry christmas
